Being veterinarians, knowledge of various pathological conditions is a must. Various disease conditions and how they bring pathological changes in tissues is something we are and keep on being familiar with. But little is known about what techniques is used, what approaches are taken to diagnose those histopathological changes. Our webinar will try and bring light on such histopathological techniques and reading of slides as well.

Antimicrobial Resistance is a global challenge which has been affecting lives of various individuals. In the present context of livestock sectors, there exists hapahazard use of Antimicrobials. This has been linked to excessive antimicrobial residues in the animal products. Antimicrobial Residue on animal product is directly linked to Antimicrobial Resistance. The hapahazard use of Antimicrobials is prevailing more in poultry sectors. To put light on this topic we have invited Dr. Bibek Bandhu Regmi. He is currently working as a Area Manager of west Nepal at New Hope Agro Business Nepal Pvt. Ltd.

Antimicrobial resistance (AMR) is the ability of microorganisms to persist or grow in the presence of drugs designed to inhibit or kill them. It occurs when microbes evolve mechanisms that protect them from the effects of antimicrobials. All classes of microbes can evolve resistance.WHO has declared that AMR is one of the top 10 global public health threats facing humanity. Misuse and overuse of antimicrobials are the main drivers in the development of drug-resistant pathogens.
Every year World Antimicrobial Awareness Week (WAAW) is celebrated from 18th November to 24th of November. It is celebrated as a global campaign to improve awareness and understanding of AMR to encourage best practices among the public, One Health stakeholders and policymakers, who all play a critical role in reducing the further emergence and spread of AMR.
This year, the theme of World Antimicrobial Awareness Week (WAAW) is “Preventing Antimicrobial Resistance Together.”
