Where is the plastic bag?

These are x-rays of 'Beta's' abdomen, and there is a suspicious object in her abdomen seen in these x-rays, which we discovered was a plastic bag that she had eaten! And was causing a blockage.

Namaste. This is 'Suru' recovering from his dental. He had nine teeth extracted today and will feel much much happier now without those rotting and painful teeth.
He came last week with a huge abscess caused from a tooth infection , which we treated first and made him fit and fine before we extracted his rotting teeth.
We are happy to send him home today, and look forward to seeing how much better he will feel at his post-op check up. ❤️

This is a photo of the uterus/womb of a mature female with three dead puppies inside it. We removed the infected uterus and the puppies.
This dog was given bacha napaune/sangini injection by another, which often leads to dead puppies and endangers the mother's life.
If you want to prevent unwanted pregnancy in dogs, preventative surgery is the safest option. Please contact us if you wish to talk about preventing pregnancy in your pets.

Say hello to 'Kaja' who had his last check up after removing a very large tumour from his front right leg....if you look closely you will see the healing scar tissue on the inside of his leg. 'Kaja' having a HUGE boxer personality made this day even more special. Thank you 🙏

'George' is very special, in that he RUSHES into the consult room and tries (he is still a little but too short) to JUMP onto the consult table WITHOUT being told...even when we are finished the consult and he has to go home, he STILL wants to go on the table.....nothing to do with the treats he gets at all🫣😉😁💗

These two little rogues 'Joey' and 'Chandler' decided they also wanted to join in the New Year's festivities, and absconded from their home last night on their own road trip. Luckily this morning a kind man found them roaming around his neighbourhood, and brought them to us at where we recognised these rascals and got in touch with their owner. Happy New Year to everyone. 🎉🥳🌟💫🙏

This is 'Rain' the handsome hero, who had one testicle trapped in his abdomen (the blue object in the second photo).

We preformed surgery to remove both testicles, both the inside and outside testicles.

Why bother you may ask yourself? Well, the testicle trapped in his abdomen in not in its natural location and has a higher tendency to turn into a cancer. Also, this is usually a hereditary problem , so we really should not allow 'Rain' to breed or he will pass on this problem to his puppies and the cycle repeats.

'Rain' was a super boy and recovered well from his surgery. Always check that your male dogs (and cats) have two testicles in their natural location. 😁

This little lady came for a lump check in her mammary gland....but on her exam we found NOT ONE but SIX seperate breast cancer lumps.

Like humans, we need to regularly check our dogs for breast cancer, especially in older unneutered females.

And as always PREVENTION IS BETTER THAN CURE...neutering your dog will dramatically reduce your dog's chances of getting breast cancer. Please feel free to contact us if you have any enquiries about lumps, breast cancer in dogs or neutering. Thank you.🙏

Meet 'Sun' thee most loveliest old girl, she came to Best Friends for a different problem but we noticed she also seemed have pain in her eyes. (You can see in the photo her red eyelids and clear tears.)

When we examined her closely we found the cause of her pain. She has extra eyelashes growing in the wrong place(see red arrow), and these eyelashes scrape up and down her eyeball causing irritation and pain. This is called distichiasis.

SUPERGLUE!!!! Another day and never a dull moment...this is 'Bhuntu' who came to us because he got SUPER GLUE stuck in his eye (photo on the right is the glue after removal).

We sedated him and removed the solidified glue, however the glue had damaged the surface of his eye (photo on the left, the eye is dyed to highlight the damage) which we will continue to treat.
...Remember that urban legend.... 👀

His name is 'Bhote' and he came with lots of pus weeping from his right eye.

He was in such pain that it was impossible to examine him without sedation. We needed to find out if his eyeball was ruptured or not, and to look for any foreign objects that may have caused this severe infection.

As you can see in the second photo his eyeball was angry but not damaged. We found a deep puncture wound that lead to an abscess probably caused by a dog bite.

After flushing out the abscess and giving 'Bhote' painkillers and antibiotics we hope for a speedy recovery. 👀❣️
