The South Island Hound Club are offering a lure course day for puppies tomorrow. (Join there page if you need more information)

We are having Lure Coursing Puppy Dash Day on the 19 of January at Mandeville Sports Ground at 10 am. All dogs between the age of 3 months and one year are welcome, $5 entry on the day.

The idea behind this is to introduce the Lure Machine to the puppies and them to have some socialization. The run will be very short as to not over exert the puppy. The main thing will be to get the puppies interested in the lure.

Tip: If you are interested in your dogs doing Lure Coursing the best way to get them interested is to tie a plastic bag to a piece of string and stick and get them to chase it as soon as they are able too, taking care not to over exert them.

Last nights beyond class was pretty chilly so we did spend a fair bit of time in the sheds. They enjoyed giving paws up a go and had even more fun playing with each other. Great group of pups

After all the hard work of training it’s time for the pups to let off steam and have a run around.

Last Thursday night we put the recall into practice. They nailed it 😀
