Back at it tomorrow 🩵🐾
January hasn’t got many bookings left so please do get in touch and prebook an appointment. It’s going to be a long hot summer and your pooches will thank you for having less coat!

And that’s a wrap for 2024
I spent the year with a bunch of new four legged friends and of course the ones I’ve been loving for years already and I can’t wait to rinse and repeat like this for the rest of my life.
Looking forward to seeing you all in the New Year when we reopen on the 6th.
Merry Christmas

So Josh and I did a thing…….

As most of you have probably worked out, we quite like cruising about in the big backyard of our country with our pooches. In fact we love it so much we decided to write a book about it.

GRASS SEED ALERT!

As we transition into the warmer months, we find ourselves entering the dreaded seed season, a time when grass seeds can pose significant dangers to our beloved dogs. It’s crucial for pet owners to be vigilant, as these seeds are not just a rural or farm dog problem; they can be found everywhere—even in urban parks and town areas. With the wind carrying them far and wide, it’s essential to understand the risks they pose and take preventative measures.

Grass seeds, particularly from certain types such as barley grass, are shaped in a way that makes them especially hazardous. Their sharp, pointed ends can easily penetrate the skin or become lodged in a dog’s fur, but the dangers don’t stop there. These seeds can enter the body through a paw or pretty much anywhere and, due to their unique shape and the way the body’s circulatory system works, they can travel through veins. This means that a seed can start in a dog’s foot and end up popping out in an armpit or, worse, get stuck and cause a blockage that could be fatal.

Moreover, if these seeds manage to enter the body, they can become lodged in critical areas, such as the heart, leading to serious complications or even death. Over the years, there have been numerous cases where dogs have suffered severe infections or have tragically lost their lives due to grass seeds. This underlines the importance of checking your dogs daily during this season.

To help mitigate the risks, consider giving your dog a short haircut for the summer. By reducing the amount of fluffy hair, you decrease the chances of grass seeds gripping onto their fur. Not only does a shorter coat help keep your dog cool during the warmer months, but it also provides an added layer of protection against these hazardous seeds.

We have been picking out hundreds each week from your beautiful pooches and want to remind everyone how dangerous they can be ♥️🐾
