Itโ€™s now only 11 weeks until Timberlands 2024 & we know youโ€™re all โ€œChamping at the Bitโ€ regarding the Entry criteria & Rules.
We are going to take Entries through Evo this year & are just finalising the last few things. The Flyer and Rules will be up after the weekend for you all so get those Teams sorted.
Weโ€™re really looking forward to holding our first ever Event in the warmer summer month of February & finally being able to have a Saturday night Hoe-Down party๐Ÿฅณ

As you may know, helmets must be yellow-tagged from tomorrow if you plan to compete. However, there is some misinformation circulating about tags changing colour again soon, and standards changing too. We just wish to put everyoneโ€™s minds at rest that this is certainly not the case. There are no plans to update the helmet tagging procedure in the foreseeable future.

Letโ€™s go back to the whole reason why we are undertaking the changes in the first place: When we removed a standard (as has happened with EN 1384 2017 and VG1 without a kitemark), we needed to change the tagging procedure to make it a lot easier for our officials to monitor that riders are safely kitted out with approved gear when competing at Events. Now, as technology and manufacturing standards continue to improve, new standards are added on to our existing list of approved helmet standards. As they are being added and not removed, this doesnโ€™t require a change of helmet tag or system. We hope this helps.

Please also see our FAQs on the website: https://www.nzequestrian.org.nz/2023/07/helmet-tagging-faqs-for-1-august-2023/

[EN 1384 2017 was removed from the approved standards in 2017. We are still waiting for a new EN 1384 to be added, but we do expect this to be very soon, so it will have a more recent date and therefore does not mean another round of tagging.]

New Zealand Pony Clubs share in the sadness felt around the world today following the passing of Queen Elizabeth II.
The Royal Family has had a long history of supporting Pony Club, with Her Majestyโ€™s husband, Prince Phillip, founding Pony Club Mounted Games in 1957 and HRH the Princess Royal as Patron of Pony Club UK.
A passionate supporter of equestrian herself, Queen Elizabeth continued riding until very recently.
Rest in Peace your Majesty.

So, if you are keen to come out for a lesson, please contact me, there are limited spaces. 1 on 1 lesson $50, or for 2 people together $80, each lesson 45min, this is a great opportunity, so let me know if you would like to come.
