It's been a while since I last posted. We have now moved and are settled in the new place.
Here are the last of our treatments for 2023 😍

The good weather is certainly making us think of our riding goals for summer.
Time to make sure the horses are feeling 100% before training starts

Today we had Equilibrium back massage and percussion massage.

As most of you know Zen has had a hard few months. He has had numerous abscess and as a consequence his body has suffered. Compensation and confinement have taken a toll.
He's not had an abcess for the past month so we are slowly building his strength and activity level.

The day will benefit both horse and owners health and wellbeing.

✴️Starting at 10am with a session on mindfulness relaxation and it's benefits to our horsemanship
✴️A short video on the meridians in equines

Lunch provided

✴️End the day with each participant recieving a treatment using the terahertz wand.

Thermal images of hooves with known abscesses.
The white area we see is the inflammation. This is what causes pain and pain causes lameness.

In the first picture the fetlock is also inflammed as the swelling travels up past the hoof.

Treatment involved vet care, bute, farrier care, soaking in Epsom salts, keeping a dry clean wound to prevent infection.

How does thermal imaging work?

Thermal imaging is based upon the science of infrared energy (otherwise known as “heat”), which is emitted from all objects.

Healthcare and medicine also have practical uses, such as to spot fevers and temperature anomalies. Additionally, thermal imagers have been proven to help diagnose a range of disorders associated with the neck, back and limbs, as well as circulatory problems.

The ponies turn for their weekly treatments.
Massage can be done in a variety of ways. By hand, magnetic ball hand pad, percussion and back pad. 10 to 30 mins.

All perfectly suitable for increasing circulation and helping the body heal itself.

Have you ever given paste like bute, ulcer treatment etc and lost most of it when the horse moves its tongue and spits out the paste with a lump of grass? Try this. Put your finger in his cheek and watch him spit out the grass. Once this is done pop in the paste and hey presto it stays in the mouth 😁👍
