Due to the fact I have been diagnosed with a significant health condition which causes Chronic Fatigue amongst a host of other unpleasant conditions I am rehoming almost all purebred & pedigree cats.
I have Ragdoll, Persian/Exotic-Persian and British Shorthair/Longhair.
If you want breeding cats, you'll pay breeding costs $1500 - $5000 each. You don't get entires/papered pedigree for nothing. You must be a registered breeder with NZCF, to purchase papered pedigree entires. They will be desexed otherwise and papered cats go at papered prices.
Don't ask questions on my page. You can message me direct, if you are serious.
Failing to rehome, may mean I have to look at euthanising some, which I am reluctant to do.
Don't ask to visit to view, as I won't be doing that. It's being done this way as I have a lot of things to manage right now.
If you can't tell me specifically what you are looking for in a pet, don't contact me. I won't be wasting my time sending bulk photos. My health is dictating what I take on.

So people watching Community pages like Paremoremo, Coatesville & Dairy Flat, will be aware of the dumping of Colourpoint/Ragdoll cats in various places in the last 2 or 3 weeks. I believe there's been about 9 of them (I may stand corrected on this), and most are in the care of rescues now. These cats are bred to be quiet house cats, not to be roaming feral around the country.
I have taken two colourpoints in myself. I want to give huge thanks and credit to D & H, a lovely animal loving couple, who had great instincts, around getting these cats quiet and settled before attempting capture. Their driveway is quite long but Dee walked it morning and night to feed these cats who had settled in bush on the side of her driveway. Dee & H. built them a little waterproof house with a blanket, put up a little fence on 3 sides and took bowls up there so they had their meat and biscuits with water twice a day. The cats got so used to the routine they began venturing down the driveway to meet Dee. One is quite timid and the other more confident. Dee was able to pick these cats up and pop them into a carrier for me.
I noticed they had a URI, so I took them into the Vet for a full check-up today. One had mild gingivitis, ear mites and an ear infection on one side (Rescue #1). Teeth need descaling, clean & polish. Flu is more nasal and not chesty so they'll both be fine on Flumax twice a day. Rescue #2 was similar in that he has earmites and an infection in one ear. I'll have to clean their ears twice a day (Otoflush), use a medication in the infected ear and a holistic remedy for earmites. I do a mix of Castor Oil (anti-inflammatory) Neem Oil (anti-parasitic) and Aloe Juice (soothing) in specific amounts. It's great for killing ear mites.
He had a slight temperature but the Vet felt it had more to do with his anxiety, being subjected to this in his fearful state. His teeth are a little better but still need a clean and polish.
So in 3 days they will go in for their dentals. After that I'll book them in for desexing, microchipping and vaccinations on my rostered days off. I probably won't get an appointment for a couple of weeks or so. The rescue vets are pretty full on, with a high work load. I haven't named these cats because they have to find their new families and I'm trying not to get attached. My mind is satisfied, when they are well and get their own family.
I will post photo's at a later date.

I am downsizing my own personal purebred adult cats. All are desexed & microchipped. Some vaccinations need updating. Some are a bit shy until they know you. All are young adults except about 4 who are older. If you are interested DM me telling me what you are looking for and the kind of home you are offering. There's Ragdoĺl, X-bred, British Shorthair, Persian & Exotic. Most are female. Colours are lilac, blue, blue smoke tortie, black tortie, blue tabby tortie, tortie point, seal point, tortie & white, black n white, black, chocolate tortie point, silver seal mink spotted tabby.
No time wasters please. No students or people under 25.
Adoption fee applies.

Some time ago, I made the decision, not to foster any more cats/kittens, for many reasons, but the main one being I get stuck with cats that no-one else wants, that I don't want and that become extra's on top of my own personal cats. Funding their veterinary needs, food, bedding etc comes out of my salary and its costly. The public is not forthcoming with donations, and I do understand why, as the economy in NZ is tight right now and most people don't have extra or are struggling themselves.
This also has a roll-on affect with my own personal cats and personal living space.
I am happy to continue TNR only. For the first time in over 20 years my landlord has asked that I try and move some on, which is all in hand. Arrangements have been made already. I can't complain, as they have been very good to me.
I am also getting older, not younger and I would like to retire at some stage and realistically I can't afford loads of cats on NZ Super. I am working toward just having a few of my own personal cats, in the very near future.

FAMILY SEEKING A LOVING, CARING HOME FOR THESE TWO CHERISHED MALE CATS AS THEY ARE EMIGRATING.

LATTE (Cream Tabby boy) is the most amazing boy 🥰 He’s super smoochy & loving, loves being indoors and is a bit of a lazy boy. We adopted him when he was 3, he is now 5. He has been desexed 🥰 He is good with kids 💖

ZEUS (black smoke) we adopted when he was a kitten, he’s now two. He’s mischievous and super cute. He isn’t as affectionate as Latte but he is a fun, curious wee boy with a lot of energy. He is also desexed. He’s about 2 🥰

Add-On: There is a strong possibility that Zeus has a black-silver tabby British Shorthair in his ancestry. I say this for a couple of reasons, the Inhibitor gene does not exist in NZ domestic cats. Zeus has a shorter nose and wide cheeks which is a different head shape to the NZ cat. Zeus is also a little aloof like the British Shorthair cats.

I have been in two minds about making this post, but I feel it needs to be said, given I have had two timewasters this week with their own agenda. Don't contact us, that rescue, asking to borrow our traps. We either do the job or don't do it, but we are not in the hiring business. What I and others are experiencing is people who want our gear, but want control of the cat they have trapped. They are not transparent with us, about their plans for the cat. They are not experienced in rescue and have very little knowledge about due process, cat behaviour, illnesses etc. For the most part they just want their problem solved or they have an undisclosed plan. These people also tend to have short arms and deep pockets and would never give a donation toward the work we do. Traps cost us a lot of money and there's no guarantee you'll take necessary precautions not to have them stolen. If you are so keen on rescue, go and buy your own traps and join us.
We always need more people in rescue.
I do not lend traps so you can kill the said cat.
I do not lend traps so you can keep the cat and breed from it.
I do not lend traps so you can sell the cat on Trade Me.
I do not lend traps so you can rehome the cat without getting it desexed, without checking it for a microchip and without getting it Veterinary attention.
I can guarantee, once you find how much money you are using out your own salary, to do this work, you will probably throw in the towel.

UPDATE: This boy is desexed and has a very happy home with the people who contacted me about him. He has relaxed enough to sleep on their bed now.

This boy is being trapped to bring in for attention and desexing. He appears young, very hungry, timid, and I think his eyes look a little sore. Not sure whether he been has pre-owned or always a street cat. Guess I'll find out. I have a warm cosy place for him that won't stress him too much.

SPLASH (Boy)

So the 4 kittens have been desexed now, but getting photo's is hard as they are so friendly. This is the first boy. I have named him Splash as his white has expressed on his body like the Splash White Gene on a horse. I have included a picture of a horse expressing the splash white gene so you can see what I mean. I'm looking for a quiet home with no children or other pets for Splash as his start has been very challenging and trust needs to be rebuilt. He's a lovely little guy, that just adores being cuddled and stroked but he needs patience and understanding. He's very photogenic with his black eyeliner and striking looks.
Located in Paremoremo, Albany. Adoption Fee applies. Please private message me telling me about the kind of home you can offer him.

Hi all,

Just a word of warning, my workload is high right now and I get very little sleep at times, so I'm grumpy and intolerant. If you want to be a Karen and make a rude comment about not knowing my location when its readily available if you open your eyes and/or google it, then expect just to get banned. My level of tolerance is low right now and I have no time for sanctimonius Karens.
I don't supply a full address, because I don't want cats dumped at my address. I don't supply a phone number because I'm a shift worker and don't want to be disturbed. I don't email as I have Messenger. Not all cats I care for, are on my page. Some are colony cats, some are on cattery observation/medication, so they aren't advertised. Both my workload and expenses are high right now, so its zero tolerance for idiots. See screenshots below that state my area.

******EDIT - I have these kittens, but they are not up to a standard I expect, at this stage. Worming and defleaing, plus a constant supply of quality food will see them on the right path. ******

I have 3 more 12 week old socialised kittens and 1 x 6 month old kitten, coming in on the weekend also. These kittens were placed with a fosterer that couldn't cope, for personal reasons. Her friend contacted me to see if I could assist. I'm booking them into a Vet immediately for desexing. I have attached photo's I was given, but I'll take new ones when I get them.
The background of these kittens is unknown.
1 x bi-colour black boy.
1 x bi-colour tortie girl.
1 x black mackerel bi-colour tabby (silver look) boy.
1 x black classic tabby girl.
White is quite magnified on these kittens.
An adoption fee will apply to go towards rescue.

Sadly we are in search of a new family for our beautiful cat, HERMIONE.
Age: 2 years
S*x: Female
Location: West Auckland but open to travel
Vaccinated, desexed, microchipped.

Hermione is an independent and playful girl but will always want to snuggle up at night. She doesn’t get along with dogs or most cats but loves people. She also loves her food and catnip, but her favourite thing is observing the world from a sunny window ledge.
If you are interested in adopting Hermione, please give me (Rachel) a message via 0212624258 and I will get back to you asap.

SNIP ‘N’ CHIP COMES TO AUCKLAND! 🙌

We’re excited to be launching a new Snip ‘n’ Chip campaign for cat owners in the Auckland region.

From 15 March 2023 we’re working with local participating vet clinics to offer this service to cat owners who are struggling with the cost of desexing and microchipping. Vouchers help those in need get their cat desexed and microchipped for $30.

PLEASE REMEMBER – a limited number of vouchers are available to help those who require financial assistance. Please, only get a voucher if you need one and intend to use it. In the past we’ve noticed some vouchers were never used, or bookings were made with vets and never attended. When this happens, it prevents someone else from using the voucher who might really need it.

Bookings are now open, so head over to https://book.spcadesexing.nz/ to check if you’re eligible, and to register for your Snip ‘n’ Chip voucher. If you know someone who needs help with the online system, you can register on their behalf. Thank you so much to our participating vet clinics as well as Māngere-Ōtāhuhu, Maungakiekie-Tāmaki and Ōtara-Papatoetoe Local Boards for helping us to make this important campaign possible ❤️

URGENTLY REQUIRED - RELIABLE CARING PEOPLE TO FOSTER KITTENS

There is quite a large colony of cats being trapped right now, at Dairy Flat. At least 3 mothers have been identified. Two have been TNR'd ( trap-neuter-return) to date. There are about 3 litters of kittens to trap, worm, deflea, feed well and desex. If you are able to take kittens on to help out by day to day care an rehabilitation, until healthy and heavy enough for desexing we'd be very grateful. Kittens need to weigh about 1kg to desex. Just message if you are able to help.

Its with great sadness that I had Bear put to sleep on Monday. Bear drew the short straw with his DNA and he lived with two auto immune diseases, being gastrointestinal and bowel. He was born September 2017, so he had not long turned five years old. He had a great personality and even all cats/kittens coming to my home loved Bear, except one.
He loved his food but had lost 1.1kg with having mouth ulcers, that were getting worse.
He had lost quality of life and even my Vets said it was the responsible thing to do. This loving boy will be forever in my thoughts. 💔

***UPDATE - Sadly, a relative surrendered these two cats to the SPCA***

The owner of this bonded pair passed away suddenly, and they need another bed to sleep as soon as possible.
They are still in her apartment and are being cared for at the moment, but have to be out as soon as possible. They are a bonded pair so must find a home together. Both are spayed females who are micro-chipped and as far as I know are up to date with vacs, flea and worm treatments. They have been well loved and cared for. Polly is 3 years old and black. Lola is 2 years old and black and white. She is also deaf. There are no family members who are able to take them so these poor girls are relying on some kind person taking them in.

SNOWFLAKE
So my rescue girl Snowflake who is still semi-wild attached herself to Bear, my red British Shorthair boy. Bear has had health issues from a kitten. Bear turned 5yrs old from 11/09/2022. He was diagnosed with IBD, then he had Juvenile Gingivitis which developed into Periodontal Disease as he got older. Last year I had all Bears teeth removed. I've known for years that Bear would eventually get Gingivastomatitis as tooth removal is no guarantee that they won't. So I have been concerned about Bear going off food for a few days and I got him to the Vet yesterday. I thought he may have diabetes as he's been drinking water excessively and suffered bowel incontinence when he's asleep, hence covering my lounge suite and duvet in king size sheets and using brolly sheets on my lounge suite, plus a carpet & furniture shampoo'er. The Vet checked his urine and blood for diabetes and it was all clear, but he found mouth ulcers. Bear was started on Steroid injections. His days are numbered because it gets to a point where steroids no longer work and I don't plan to wring every last inch of life out of him for my sake. Living a life of pain and not being able to eat for a cat like Bear is no fun, so I will get to a point where I won't allow him to suffer.
Sadly this will impact on Snowflake in a huge way, so I have bought her another red boyfriend to attach to. He is a 2 year old Perdoll called Leo. Leo is a red lynx point cat. I had him desexed on the 12th Oct 2022. He is the kindest sweetest cat ever and Snowflake will love him in time. I have bought him to start introducing him slowly because at the moment Bear and Leo don't see eye to eye. He is a big cat who will fill out more now he's desexed. I have to train him to a microchip feeder to. He is currently 6kg, but isn't fully mature yet. Hopefully for Snowflake she won't miss Bear too much when that time comes.

It has been a successful trapping and desexing of a colony in Massey. There were 3 pregnant Queens, 1 female kitten about 6 months, 2 x boys and one black n white male who had already been desexed and is a TNR. It has stopped quite a large number of kittens being born over the whole kitten season. The only youngster we haven't got is the black tabby. I am hoping she is owned and has gone home, because the other train of thought is that she may have beaten us and has given birth somewhere. Hopefuly I'm wrong. Both the black tortie (Cleo) and the blue tortie (Saffron) have found lovely homes with Jordan and Caron respectively. None of these cats were microchipped. Both Cleo and Saffron have since, been microchipped. All cats were treated with Broadline.

About

I am a member of The Community Cat Coalition. I have taken on feral and street cats for desexing and adopting out for over 30 years, but up until the end of 2019, I had never advertised my work as I plodded along quietly taking on small numbers, all funded at my expense. I joined the CCC at the suggestion of another Rescuer and it’s been a good decision.

I only handle small numbers, so if you want to view larger numbers, you are best to contact the larger organizations. If I have anything ready for adoption, I will post the photo and descriptions.

It costs me a fortune in food, vet bills, cat litter, medications, heating etc to do this. Please support your local rescue with a donation. It can be just that one cup of coffee a week you don’t have. We are grateful for anything. It all helps.

My Bank Account details are:_ Homeless Feline Rescue, 38-9010-0152738-03.
