🎄✨ Merry Christmas from East Coast Bays Vet Clinic! 🎅🐾

We want to wish all our wonderful clients and their furry friends a very Merry Christmas and a safe, happy holiday season!

Last Wednesday, our team got into the festive spirit with a Secret Santa gift exchange and a shared lunch. It was a lovely way to come together, celebrate the season, and enjoy some delicious food as a team.

We’re so grateful for your continued support throughout the year and feel lucky to care for your pets.

Here’s a photo of our crew spreading some Christmas cheer! 📸

Wishing you all a joyful day filled with love, laughter, and cuddles with your pets. 🎅❤️

Keep Your Pets Safe This Christmas: Beware of Toxic Foods! 🍫🍷🍇

The festive season brings an abundance of delicious treats, but many holiday favorites can be harmful—even fatal—to our furry friends. As you celebrate, please keep the following foods away from your pets:

- Chocolate: Contains theobromine, which is toxic to dogs and cats.
- Grapes and Raisins: Can cause kidney failure in pets.
- Onions and Garlic: Damage red blood cells, leading to anemia.
- Alcohol: Even small amounts can be dangerous.
- Xylitol: A sweetener found in many baked goods and sweets; highly toxic to pets.

For a comprehensive list of harmful foods and more tips on keeping your pets safe, visit Paws Off!

Wishing you and your pets a happy and safe holiday season! 🎄🐾

Our precious fur babies are at risk of getting sick because one in three naughty humans don’t know some ingredients they think are yummy are not nice for animal tummies. We’re asking pet owners, brands, retailers and food and drink manufacturers to support the Paws Off! warning symbol.

☀️ Keep Your Pets Cool This Summer ☀️

As the weather heats up, it’s important to make sure your furry friends stay safe and comfortable. Here are some tips to help your pets beat the heat and avoid heat stress:

🐾 Provide plenty of fresh water – Ensure your pets always have access to clean, cool water throughout the day.

🐾 Create shady spots – Make sure there’s a cool, shaded area for your pets to rest, especially if they’re outdoors.

🐾 Avoid hot surfaces – Asphalt and concrete can burn paws. If it’s too hot for your hand, it’s too hot for their feet!

🐾 Adjust exercise routines – Walk dogs early in the morning or late in the evening when it’s cooler.

🐾 Never leave pets in cars – Even with the windows cracked, temperatures can skyrocket in minutes.

🐾 Cool them down – Use a damp towel, cooling mat, or pet-safe paddling pool to help lower their temperature.

Signs of Heat Stress in Animals:
🚨 Heavy panting or difficulty breathing
🚨 Excessive drooling
🚨 Lethargy or weakness
🚨 Bright red or pale gums
🚨 Vomiting or diarrhea

If you notice any of these symptoms, act quickly by moving your pet to a cool area, offering small amounts of water, and contacting us or your nearest vet immediately.

Let’s keep our furry friends happy, healthy, and safe all summer long! 🐕🐈🐾

🎄 Meet Quinn! 🎄

This little cutie was handed in to us at just a few days old and has been lovingly hand-reared by one of our amazing nurses. She’s been bringing him in every day, and all the nurses have been pitching in to help. It’s truly been a team effort, and we’re so proud of how far he’s come!

Now 5 weeks old, Quinn is growing into such a playful, curious little kitten—and he’s definitely keeping us all on our toes (and melting our hearts). Here he is striking a festive pose in front of our Christmas tree! 🌟

It’s moments like these that remind us why we love what we do. 💕

🐾 Meet Cream, the adorable Border Collie! 🐶 This clever boy came in for his second vaccination today, where he received his DHPPi and Leptospirosis boosters. Cream took it all in stride, charming everyone with his sweet nature! 💉✨

Vaccinations are vital in protecting our pets from serious diseases. In New Zealand, these diseases can pose real risks, but keeping up with your dog’s vaccination schedule ensures they stay safe and healthy. Remember, regular boosters are key to long-term protection! 🐕❤️
