We have some extra special goodies in store today!

After seeing all the bakery’s in pet stores in the states i we wanted to offer something similar in our very own store.

We have teamed up with Pawfect Bites to create something fun in store, this week we have ‘NZ Bakery’ range this includes, doggy sausage rolls, turmeric custard pie, and doggy mint slice! We will only have these available on Saturdays and limited numbers so get in quick!

To keep all our dogs safe Pet Patch nz in Huapai Auckland has kindly donated these wonderful tags with our name and number on them, soon to be seen on all our foster dogs. All our dogs are microchipped and registered and this is just another level of keeping them safe. These are super easy to do and inexpensive, just rock up choose your tag and put it into the engraving machine for double sided text. We left the pens out over the weekend and have been encouraging people to add some artwork to the fish tanks and we absolutely LOVE the things people came up with! 🖼️ We will probably do the same this weekend so if your around pop in and add some colour 🌈

The estimated 33 million pets in Australia and New Zealand are generating lots of love for their humans, lots of cleaning up and also lots of pet food packaging going to landfills. 🐶🐰

But it doesn’t need to be this way!

Ryan Gedye, owner of pet shop Pet Patch nz in Huapai, Auckland, is doing something about it. As part of Pet Patch’s dedicated sustainability strategy, Ryan has set up a TerraCycle Plastic Packaging - Zero Waste Box™ in-store for his customers to recycle all brands of pet food packaging, which would otherwise end up in landfills.

“Our collection point is set up at the front entry by the counter so all of our customers can see it as they walk in,” he says. “The community has been very impressed with the recycling station. We are starting to get a good flow of people using it.”

In addition to Zero Waste Boxes, Pet Patch has found other ways to reduce its environmental impact. The shop works with suppliers that share the same values of using recycled products and offers a ‘Swap A Bucket’ programme for bird feed sold in-store to minimise plastic waste. 🐥

This month, join in on the effort to cut down plastic consumption and help divert plastic waste from landfills. Take inspiration from Ryan’s initiatives to recycle the waste that can’t be avoided and reduce what can!
