Deceased Cat Found – Please Help Us Find His Family 💔

Sadly a deceased male cat has been brought into our clinic after an apparent dog attack. He is a young silver/black tabby, and he has a pink collar with no tag. He is not microchipped or desexed.

His body will be held with us for 7 days for collection. If you recognize this cat or know his owners, please contact us as soon as possible. He can be collected at any time during our opening hours.

Big hugs and lots of treats were in store for Canvas who was in recently for his dental. Canvas has a heart condition called HCM which meant he needed extra attention and care during his hospital stay with us. He did awesome during his dental and has now been left with beautiful pearly whites 🦷✨️

Smudge is a 5 year old, male neutered, and microchipped, black and white domestic short hair. He has been missing from his home in Glendene since 26 September. His mum and brother are missing him dearly and would be grateful to know if anyone has information on his whereabouts.

Everyone say Hello to Bear, the sweetest pup in for his post-op check after his neuter 🐶💙 we're glad to see Bear is handling recovery like a champ. Neutering is an important step for a healthy, happy future—and Bear is already on his way there.

Meet Mr. Cuddlepaws! 🐾 This tiny bundle of fluff is just 4 weeks old and currently in the loving care of Lonely Miaow, an Auckland cat rescue doing incredible work for vulnerable kittens. He's being fostered by one of our amazing vet nurses here at the clinic, who’s making sure he gets all the cuddles (and nutrition!) he needs to grow strong. 💕

The eyes of somebody who's been up to no good 👀 Meet Whiskey, a young pup who loves to eat things he shouldn't! This week he was tended to by our team after falling sick with a foreign body obstructing his intestines, which was picked up on x-rays. Thanks to Dr Ashlee, Whiskey's surgery went smoothly and Whiskey is now back on track to recovery 🐾

Say hello to Daisy, who was an absolute champ, and a pleasure to have in for x-rays today. 🐶✨ She received plenty of pats and treats in hospital - those puppy eyes are hard to resist!

Last week Peanut 🥜 came in with a troubling cough and a croaky meow. With the help of some sedation, we were able to find a long grass blade stuck at the back of his throat 😮
With the grass blade now removed, the adventurous wee Peanut is back to his happy normal self! 🌟

Sadly a neutered male brown & white tabby domestic long hair cat has been brought into the clinic deceased. He was found on View Rd in Henderson. He does not have a collar or microchip, but it is obvious he has been loved and cared for.

🦷✨️ Dental Awareness Month ✨️ 🦷

Dental disease is one of the most common medical conditions seen by vets, and affects over 70% of pets over 3 years old. This can include dental tartar, gingivitis, periodontitis and tooth resorption. Many pets will hide signs of dental disease until they are severe, so often a check up is needed to assess if dental disease is present.

At AVH, we offer free nurse checks all year round to assess your pets oral health and if a dental procedure is needed. All you need to do is call or email to book in this appointment!

If your pet does need a dental procedure, it's your last chance to take advantage of our special this month - free dental xrays during a dental procedure and reduced price on scale/polish for cats and dogs. If you book your dental in the next week you can still make use of this offer.

Brave boy Julien (grey tabby) was in recently for desexing and microchip with his gorgeous brother Morty along for moral support.
Both these babies are lucky pre-adopted Lonely Miaow kittens who will soon be off to their furr-ever homes 💕

What a pleasure it was to have Tui in for her dental procedure this week. At 13 years young, this lovely lady is as lively as a 13 week old puppy. We can't wait to see Tui again at her next check up. 🥰

This week we had the pleasure of having Lindy in for biopsy of a lump on her skin. Lindy was extremely brave for her procedure, and was a delight to have in clinic. We can't wait to see her back for her post op check 🥰🐶

Meet Emma, our resilient feline friend 😻 At 15 years young, Emma showed us the true meaning of strength, bouncing straight back to her playful self following her hind limb amputation surgery. We love seeing our older feline friends playing like kittens again! 🥰💛

It was a very happy new years for us welcoming new patient Roma to the clinic 🐶 she was so brave, she didn't even notice her vaccine or microchip injections! We can't wait to see her back for her next vaccine 😍
