North Island Welsh Pony & Cob Show 2025

3 ponies and 5hrs to get to Taupō (Normally only 4hr, thanks to holiday crashes) but we got there in the end 😮‍💨
Bringing home some wides, placings and lots of learnings. Drayton Finessia and mumma (Louise Beuth) having the highlight of the show with 3rd in the “non NZ purebred” in a large field, the old girl showing that she very much deserved her spot on the truck after many many years in the broodmare paddock.
Jubilee Charlie’s Pride was very well behaved for her first big trip away coming away with placings and Rune Hollow Secret affair brought home a wide and 3rd in a strong “NZ Purebred” class.

We also attended Clevedon A&P show in November, (late post, completely forgot 🤦🏻‍♀️🤦🏻‍♀️)where Drayton Finessia was Res. Champion adult and Jubilee Charlie’s Pride was Supreme Welsh Exhibit (at her first offical outing).

Feeling very thankful and appreciative of our GIT (groom in training) 😂😂 Angela!! Snacks, laughs and chief pony holder is no mean feat. Especially if you’re not horsey, baptism by fire?!

Two back to back Sunday trips to Cambridge for foal shows 😮‍💨 most definitely worth it. Such great exposure for our girl Leigh Akera (Bamborough Ambassador x Glendale Africa Star).
It would have been great to see more Section B foals bred/ out here in the North Island. Hopefully over the next couple of years we will see the numbers increase!!

Helensville A&P Show Fun 🤩

A last minute entry with Rune Hollow Secret Affair. She was a little star 🌟
It was so nice to catch up with local friends and the show had such a lovely positive atmosphere. Secret made lots of new little friends.

Absolutely fantastic!! We had the most wonderful trip to Christchurch for Welsh Pony and Cob Stud Tour arrange by Rachael List from Rhestr Welsh Cobs
We found the trip educational, inspiring and truly welcoming.
Thank you to every stud that opened their doors to us, the hospitality was exceptional.

A shame that not many people took advantage of the tour but it made our experience a VIP tour.
