♡ Today's post is in memory of our beautiful Lucy ♡

We said goodbye to our little babe, 1 year ago today, and it is still so hard to process that she's not here with us anymore 💔

I could write a book on how much we loved her, how much fun we had and how much she meant to us.

What an absolute privilege it was, sharing life with her for 11 years and wow, did it go fast - too fast!

And although saying goodbye and adjusting to life without Lu has been devastating, we have so many beautiful, amazing memories, and we are so, so grateful for that 🥹

I have hundreds of photos of our furkids, so I thought I'd just share a few to show her gorgeous, happy little face 🤍🩷

And here's the finished result for Luna 🙂 🌘⭐️

To achieve the Crescent, I line up the disc cutter with a previously cut 25mm disc from sheet metal and then use the punch to cut the shape. Then I file it down, layer it on top and solder away.....

So yes, a wee bit of work involved, but I think it's worth it ♡

A few shots of Luna's tag in the making, using mixed metals - Brass and Nickel Silver.

As you can see, these metals change their appearance quite a bit throughout the soldering process, as they are heated several times (to join each layer individually) and then cleaned and then heated again etc etc.

Still, I enjoy seeing the changes, so stay tuned for the finished & polished tag if you do too ♡

What a whirlwind of a year!!

I wasn't too sure when the right time was to come back and honestly I have been putting it off for quite some time, because I didn't feel 100% ready....

I've decided now is the right time to make that first step back, because otherwise, another few months will just fly by.

Soooo I'm having a stall at the Kowhai market tomorrow - Saturday 19th October in Warkworth, so please feel free to come and say hi if you're around!!

Hi everyone,

I hope you have been keeping well ♡

I've popped back on here to let you all know that I'm starting up again soon!!!

I've decided to make a change to Hearts and Puddles and have changed the name to Malt & Co 🙂

Malt is an acronym for our little family.....

M - Matt (my Husband)
A - Allix
L - Lucy
T - Ted / Toby

And Co because I can't leave our Turtle out, and also for any future family members that happen to join the ride later on ♡

Anyway, I'll let you all know when I'm back up and running and will fill you in on what has been happening while I've been away from here.

P.s. What do you think of the new logo??
