♡ Today's post is in memory of our beautiful Lucy ♡

We said goodbye to our little babe, 1 year ago today, and it is still so hard to process that she's not here with us anymore 💔

I could write a book on how much we loved her, how much fun we had and how much she meant to us.

What an absolute privilege it was, sharing life with her for 11 years and wow, did it go fast - too fast!

And although saying goodbye and adjusting to life without Lu has been devastating, we have so many beautiful, amazing memories, and we are so, so grateful for that 🥹

I have hundreds of photos of our furkids, so I thought I'd just share a few to show her gorgeous, happy little face 🤍🩷

And here's the finished result for Luna 🙂 🌘⭐️

To achieve the Crescent, I line up the disc cutter with a previously cut 25mm disc from sheet metal and then use the punch to cut the shape. Then I file it down, layer it on top and solder away.....

So yes, a wee bit of work involved, but I think it's worth it ♡

A few shots of Luna's tag in the making, using mixed metals - Brass and Nickel Silver.

As you can see, these metals change their appearance quite a bit throughout the soldering process, as they are heated several times (to join each layer individually) and then cleaned and then heated again etc etc.

Still, I enjoy seeing the changes, so stay tuned for the finished & polished tag if you do too ♡

What a whirlwind of a year!!

I wasn't too sure when the right time was to come back and honestly I have been putting it off for quite some time, because I didn't feel 100% ready....

I've decided now is the right time to make that first step back, because otherwise, another few months will just fly by.

Soooo I'm having a stall at the Kowhai market tomorrow - Saturday 19th October in Warkworth, so please feel free to come and say hi if you're around!!

Hi everyone,

I hope you have been keeping well ♡

I've popped back on here to let you all know that I'm starting up again soon!!!

I've decided to make a change to Hearts and Puddles and have changed the name to Malt & Co 🙂

Malt is an acronym for our little family.....

M - Matt (my Husband)
A - Allix
L - Lucy
T - Ted / Toby

And Co because I can't leave our Turtle out, and also for any future family members that happen to join the ride later on ♡

Anyway, I'll let you all know when I'm back up and running and will fill you in on what has been happening while I've been away from here.

P.s. What do you think of the new logo??

Hey!!!!!

So a bit of news......

I've decided to take a break from Hearts and Puddles and so I will be temporarily closed for a wee while.

I'm not sure how long for exactly, as it is dependent on a few factors that are a little out of my control right now with the house and juggling everything etc, so we'll just see how it all goes ♡ 🥲

It's a mixed bag of emotions and hard for me to let go of, as it's been a massive part of my everyday life.... thoughts, feelings, actions etc etc.... 💔

At the same time though, it's the right decision and I do think it's super important to step back sometimes in order to go forward when the time is right 🙂

I will of course, fulfill all outstanding orders and will keep the website alive for a little bit longer, as I need to update everything bit by bit as time allows.

THANK YOU all for your encouragement, support and kindness and I'll let you know when I'm back up and running again.

Happy Birthday to our special Rainbow Bridge Boy x

Toby was such an amazing companion and although he's been gone 7 years, I still miss him and hold his ashes sometimes as I can't seem to let go just yet 🥲

There is no amount of time that is right or wrong, as it's so personal and different for everyone ♡

The saying "Forever In Our Hearts" is so true and very much the case here 🥲

Rainbow Paws 🐾

I'll be bringing this one with me to the Market on Sunday at Smales Farm....unless sold prior of course 😊

The thing I love about these rocks is that they bring such a pop of colour to the garden.

And of course, because they are each handmade on river stones, they are unique and no two will ever be the same 😊

Pressing shapes from the Hydraulic Press 👌 I use this awesome machine which is still in our garage (in amongst the chaos of dirt/storage etc) to press some intricate shapes from some cutters that just can't be pressed/hammered by hand. Hehe did you notice my little mate on the right?
