Jim's and my humble retreat provides an opportunity for us to enjoy each other's company whenever desired.

I don't believe in horses always wanting to see us, much like the days we don't want to be social . Jim is free to make up his own mind. Today he made it clear we could have some moments together.

And that is what made such a beautiful evening all the more beautiful ❤️.

What a difference a few months can make ❤. March through to September. And now we are moving on to yet another journey together, and, for the first time in a long time I’m excited about it ❤.

Oh how I wish I had photo’s of today with Jim. After everything that has transpired, I’ve been feeling conflicted about a lot of things. Today, Jim made sure I remembered that what matters most is us.

Jim can be in certain moments incredibly cuddly and affectionate, its rare for him to show it so openly, but I think today he knew I needed it most. He put his head into my chest and fell asleep, sharing his breath with me, as we stood for over an hour.
And anytime I thought that the cuddle was done, he’d move straight back to me.

I think horses are the closest any of us will ever get to bonding with a dragon, in that moment, as he leaned into me, as we shared breath and spoke, I felt the connection and love for horses, I was so afraid I’d lost.

We will be back at it again soon, in our own time, sharing our story and love with those who want to see it. And I for one, cannot wait for that day.

Great progress with Jim today, slowly getting the hang of what I am asking.

So proud to have him as a partner, I feel like I'm getting my old Jim back, and that's what I cannot wait for ♥️.

One of the things I have always struggled with as an equine, due to my eyesight issues (stigmatism) is lunging. I get ridiculously dizzy, but I'm also improving with Jim, he really does make sure I'm okay ❤️.

Tick tick boom baby! Jim strutted his stuff tonight, with a bit of flair, but with some patience we are working through it.

It's just one of the joys of riding again.

Mistakes are something I used to hate admitting to. When you live with cptsd one or the first things you learnt is a mistake is an excuse.

When it comes to horses I am not ashamed of my mistakes and no one should ever be, because if you don't make mistakes you don't learn ❤️.

So for context Jim has been out of work for over a year, and my right leg isn't as strong as it once was, resulting in the both of us becoming frustrated. But a change of saddle and a new aid and Jim and I started to click like we never have before. And I am so proud to have him as my partner ❤️.

I for one am so proud of how far Jim and I have come ❤️.

Today is a tad of a hard day. Two years ago, I lost the horse who taught me to live, Erik.

What makes Jim all the more special is that he is Erik's Great Nephew. Meaning I always have a part of him with me, I'm going to take this day to take it easy and remember it is okay for me to grieve and miss him.
But being so blessed to have Jim in my life. Because next week is our two year anniversary!
