Why did we choose wool to make our HERDD bar totes?

This post gives us a good idea of how versatile wool is, including its ability to breathe & dry out quickly, & hold its structure 🐑

Our wool bar ‘savers’ {aka totes}, are purrfectly sized to fit a HERDD shampoo bar, hugging snug around it.

Once you’ve finished bathtime with the bar in the tote, leave it in there & hang it up to dry. The wool tote will air dry relatively quickly, then you can pop it in the laundry or pet cupboard, ready for wetting down for the next bath.

Our totes make switching to a solid concentrated shampoo {without the plastic bottle} easy.

About a year ago, we got an enquiry about using our litter in a {human} composting toilet🧍‍♂️🚻

It was a new application & we were eager to see how it turned out 🚽 After a year, we HERDD the verdict:

“It’s a good addition! I think just that there are a different textures is good for soaking up p*e! Ha.“

HERDDing back to our priorities when formulating the HERDD shampoo bars… here is the third one 👇🏼

Our focus on a skin-first ritual supports dogs or pets with itchy, sensitive skin. It’s a common complaint with dog owners, & we know why.

Many animal shampoos on the market prioritise “clean” - let’s think of the “best” cleaners out there - Dish washing liquid, laundry powder/liquid, soaps - they do an AMAZING job of cutting through grease, oil & grime.

We have some new followers {we’re still teeny when it comes to a SM following, as our brand is so new, so each new follower or ‘HERDDy’ as we like to say, is special to us!}

Here is a story, about a cat. Not just any cat though, he was my {HERDD’s founder} first born, & beloved baby. His name, Archibald Rex—lovingly known as ‘Archie’

A very cheeky, stunning seal-point monkey in cat’s pyjamas, with eyes bluer than the Aldabra atoll—Archie the Devon Rex, kept our lives full of laughs, vocal demands & warm cuddles.

He was, along with his brothers & sisters 🐶🐴, the inspo for founding HERDD.

Our dear Archie, last August, succumbed to cancer {fk cancer 😭}, surrounded by enough love to propel him into the heights of the most idyllic cat heaven he could ever dream of—we let him go. It was our thank you; gratitude for the 11 years of unconditional companionship he’d given us, he needed us to let him rest 🐾💔

432 days have passed, & we are opening our hearts for another Devon. We are going to get two, so they have each other, & we have them. Twiggy 🐶 will be so excited when we tell her! She loved chasing & being chased by Arch.

So a new journey of our HERDD starts here, we’ll share them with you. Of course the kittens’ wellness will be our absolute highest priority, keeping their hygiene needs close to nature with HERDD pet litter & pet care 🌱
