Animals of all shapes and sizes be it horses, cats or dogs have been a central part of my life from a very young age, from adopting our first stray kitten to a full grown German Shepherd rescued from a kennel. Being fortunate enough growing up with friends that owned horses, my love for these magnificent animals developed rapidly. I began to look
after other people’s horses grooming farrier etc an

d some riding. After leaving school I completed an Introduction to the world of Horse Racing course and found a love for working with horses. After several years breeding Thoroughbred racehorses I went on to attain my Certificate in Veterinary Nursing, working in a small animal and equine clinic based in Drury. I remained at the South Auckland clinic for a
few years before returning to Stud work. Almost 15 years ago the opportunity to train as a Professional Detector Dog handler presented itself, one which I enjoyed immensely and found to be a fulfilling role – with the best colleagues!. After leaving the Detector Dog Programme, I started my own business, initially providing Certified Canine Massage Therapy for dogs, then in August 2021 I was fortunate to add the Companion Animal Health CTX-IQ Laser therapy machine to my clients. The Photobiomodulation therapy provides reduced recovery times, faster healing, a drug free
pain relief option and provides a better quality of life to those suffering from joint diseases. After seeing the results clearly speaking for themselves I knew that I could utilise this therapy with horses too. If you watch the video on my page with Rio the quarter horse and the incredible results achieved with the laser therapy for him, you too will understand my desire to get out there and provide this service for your equine athlete’s, buddies and family members as our horses become 

Being fortunate enough to have an established Equine Veterinarian as a friend, I reached out to show him this machine and how I knew it could be a great treatment modality to use better. We under took a case study horse and the results have been fantastic. Now I am delighted to say that I have administered the Laser Therapy to Equine Athletes in multiple disciplines from Dressage, Show Jumping, Eventing, Polo
Ponies, and thoroughbreds of all ages and stages in life with remarkable results. Treatments have been administered for various conditions from, small wounds to large wounds, tendon injuries, deep muscle problems or tears, painful joint problems, swollen
hocks and of course general well-being muscle maintenance to allow high performance results and quick recovery from events. The old saying “Time is Money” is definitely no truer with our horses, be it a racehorse or a competitive sport horse …time out of action or work can be costly both monetarily and competitively, so why not look at the option of laser therapy to get your horse recovered faster and back to happy and healthy in a much shorter time frame.
