On the eve of the Paris Olympics, I’m super excited that New Zealand boardsailing is finally making its return to the Olympic stage! We haven’t competed since JP Tobin came 7th in London 2012, and now, thanks to the incredible efforts and passion of our dedicated community, we’re back.

A special shoutout to Aaron McIntosh and Antonio Cozzolino, whose passion and creative vision was instrumental in Windfoil becoming an Olympic sport. Their dedication has paved the way for our athletes to compete on the world stage once again.

I’ve also seen first-hand the countless volunteer hours put in by amazing people like Gary Hill, Ian Young, JP Tobin, and so many others. Our return to the Olympics is a testament to the tireless efforts of our volunteers and the culture of excellence that Gary and his team at Windfoil New Zealand have built.

Thanks to everyone who’s been part of this journey. It’s been a long road, but we’re finally here.

It’s an honour to watch our top windfoilers, Josh Armit and Veerle Ten Have, compete in the Olympics. Their first race is on July 28th – make sure you tune in and support them!

Go New Zealand! 🇳🇿🏅
