INTRODUCING LEO "Vanace Leonardo"
133cm (height cert) papered Section B Welsh gelding, born 2015
Leo has one of the nicest personalities! Always keen to say hello when he sees you coming, easy to catch, float, truck, tack up, worm, for the farrier (currently in front shoes) etc etc He will stand for ages to be fussed over and is a smoochy affectionate pony.
As a youngster Leo has won many supreme and champion foal and youngstock sashes before he was started under saddle at 4 years old! He is beautifully bred and would make a lovely show pony if that's what his future family wanted to do with him!
With his previous owner Leo has done a bit of everything - pony club, ribbon days, camps, ODE, SH and SJ up to 80cm - with wins and placings along the way, as well as qualifying for HOY 2024. He has also been extensively hacked out over the farm! He was sold as his rider at the time had sadly outgrown him!
Leo is for sale due to no fault of his own, and this has certainly been a difficult decision to make. Leo has only been with his current owners for approximately 6 months and although they absolutely adore him it has become clear that his tiny 8 year old rider is just not ready for him at her level of riding.
Although Leo is totally safe with no nasty in him, he is not a beginners pony - he is forward going so is best suited to a capable, quiet yet confident rider so he can get back to doing what he loves. Leo is ridden in a snaffle, and responds very well to a rider who can use their half halts and seat to keep him in a nice rhythm - he really tries his hardest to please.
With his current owners he has been hacked out on the farm, beach, and forest and is a total gem in this area. Goes in the water happily and doesn't mind being in front or behind. They've done weekly lessons, holiday programs, and attended one ribbon day (although this was on lead) where he won Champion in the flat classes.
I have thoroughly loved having Leo here, he is a wee character and gets along very well with the other ponies here.
Leo will suit a range of disciplines - from all round pony clubber, to showing, or could easily be a SH pro as he has shown success in this area already! But our main goal is to find him the best suited rider - regardless of what the rider wants to do - finding him the perfect new home is of utmost importance to the current owners!
Priced very reasonably to sell, as the new pony arrives soon and we want to see Leo getting back out and about with his new rider!
