With a recent move to Australia, Greg’s clinics will look a bit different from here on out; the main focus will be South and West Auckland on a 5/6 weekly (or so) basis 🇳🇿🇦🇺 Because of this a new group for lessons will be made, so please flick us through a message if you’re keen to be added in! 🐴🎉

This weekend we made the big trip up to Whangārei to the lovely Northland Dressage Champs!
Swarovski Gold CFH was fabulous all weekend, winning three of his four classes to finish up as the medium level champion. It’s been fantastic to see his strength and balance build up in the last six months and I’m very excited to see what the rest of the season will bring 🐴
I was also lucky enough to have the ride on Valhalla O for Betty Brown at his first championship show; Val was beautifully behaved all weekend (an impressive feat for a four-year-old!) to finish with a win in the challenge and prelim reserve champion 🎉

Big thank you to the sponsors (especially Julian and Elizabeth Aaron, Oro Equestrian, Saddlery Direct, Colin and Julie Finlayson, Oranoa Sport Horses and Carol Going for sponsoring my classes), organisers, judges and volunteers. A big congratulations also to the students I coach, who picked up a fair few rosettes and championships this weekend!🏅

As always, I’m very grateful to have such a great team supporting me and the horses; thanks to Heritage Performance Saddles NZ, Prydes EasiFeed NZ, Equine-America NZ limited and Lindsey Skinner from Core Physio!

A very quick turnaround to Waikato Champs, and then off to HOY we go! 🎉

Great to catch up with Charlotte at her masterclass today!!🦄🦄

I feel fortunate to ride both of my horses in fantastic saddles from Heritage Performance Saddles.
Swarovski Gold CFH is lucky enough to enjoy the comfort of a Fairfax World Class Dressage Saddle, which was developed in collaboration with Charlotte Dujardin. The Fairfax World Class incorporated cutting-edge technology in its creation, including pressure mapping under the saddle and rider which provided a three-dimensional analysis to ensure optimal comfort and performance for both horse and rider.
Riverpark Sienna is ridden in a Bliss of London Paramour Dressage Saddle, which is easily one of the most comfortable saddles I have ever sat in. Not only can the Paramour offer an incredibly unique closeness through the twist and leg, it also stands out for its extensive customisation options both ergonomically and aesthetically; personally I went for the safe and standard black option, but I’ve heard the Blue Nubuck hide is quite popular in Europe!🫣🫣

About Greg

Greg loves teaching and has a large number of clients all over the country, from dressage to jumping and even showing. Greg accommodates all ages and abilities. He is professional and has a kind manner which inspires riders to set new goals. He brings with him positive energy and is an asset to this sport.

Greg's riding career started with a team of eventing horses in New Zealand.

Looking to improve his abilities Greg traveled overseas and spent the next five years with Sasha Stewart on her eventing yard in Richhill, Northern Ireland. Greg worked his way up to be head groom for Sasha and accompanied her team of horses around Europe to many of the major 4* competitions such as the Athens Olympics, European Championships and World Equestrian Games.

Greg was offered the opportunity to be based at Carl Hester's in Gloustershire, England and so his focus changed to dressage. Greg worked to help produced Carl's young horses including the Grand Prix horse Nip Tuck. This is where Greg met his lifetime friend Charlotte Dujardin.
