Many of you know have been put in a hard place with Zeus and Zoe who have been abandoned. Owner booked them a kennels stay and then vanished overseas.

We have had help from an amazing PI who has confirmed their dad has left the country, put his house up for sale, and has no ticket to return. It's been 72 days now...

We are in the process of now taking adoption inquiries for both Zeus and Zoe so if you could possibly provide a loving home details will be in a psot to follow about each individual, beautiful dog.

In the meantime, we are looking for some support to help with expenses. As we will not rush their rehome and want to ensure they find well suited homes where they will both succeed.

Food, vet bills coming up to get vaccines up to date, flea and worming, kenneling and care/ staff expense for the time required to care for these two pups, it all adds up 🫠. We have been approved to set up a give a little page for the doggies and appreciate everyone's help and support for them so far!!!

Our priority is to find the right and well-matched home for Zoe and Zeus, ensuring their successful rehoming and future happiness.

All of your dogs skills are trainable. Loose leash walking, reducing reactivity, recall, calmness, sit, stand...

But like any skill, your dog's behavior is perishable.

You can not just develop it once, then expect your dog to hold themselves accountable to YOUR standards.

If you want your dog's behavior to be consistent, then you have to be consistent with your communication, your dog'sexercise, and your dogs' training sessions.

Dear Community.
We are reaching out to you with a heartfelt plea for assistance regarding a difficult situation. A client left his two dogs, Zoe and Zeus, in our care at the kennels approximately three months ago. We had agreed to keep the dogs long-term for him under the condition that he would stay in touch and pay month-to-month. Since then, we have been unable to reach him. His phone is turned off, emails go unanswered, and his Facebook account has been deleted or we are seemingly blocked. Additionally, he has not paid the bills for their stay to date including food, training, kennelling etc

We are not here to name and shame anyone. Instead, we hope that friends or family who recognize Zoe and Zeus might help us get in touch with their owner. If you have any information or can reach him, we would greatly appreciate your help.Typically, we require upfront payment for extended stays, but given our history with this client, we made an exception. This behavior is out of character for him, we know he loves his dogs and we are reluctant to consider rehoming, but we are left in a challenging position.

The dogs are currently costing us significantly, including kennel space, food, vet bills, and training resources, especially for Zeus, who required an agreed amount of training because he was not a socially safe dog, he is making great progress now by the way and is Mr social with all of the dogs! While we love every dog in our care, we also house and feed eight rescue dogs of our own personally and rely on kennel revenue for our livelihood.
Unfortunately, we are not a charitable trust and do not receive donations, making it impossible to continue this way without any contact from the owner.
This is a super tough position for us to be in and I'm still not sure if publicly posting is the right thing, but we are at a loss. The aim is not shame but to hopefully track down some family members that can get in touch with us before we we have to take action we never have had to do before.

Dear Community,

If you have any information or can reach him, we would greatly appreciate your help.

As per our client contract, if we cannot establish contact or receive payment for a long-term stay after three months, it is assumed the dogs have been abandoned. Typically, we require upfront payment for extended stays, but given our history with this client, we made an exception. This behavior is out of character for him, we know he loves his dogs and we are reluctant to consider rehoming, but we are left in a challenging position.

The dogs are currently costing us significantly, including kennel space, food, vet bills, and training resources, especially for Zeus, who required an agreed amount of training because he was not a socially safe dog, he is making great progress now by the way and is Mr social with all of the dogs!!!. While we love every dog in our care, we also house and feed eight rescue dogs of our own personally and rely on kennel revenue for our livelihood.
Unfortunately, we are not a charitable trust and do not receive donations, making it impossible to continue this way without any contact from the owner.

We have sent messages and emails informing the owner that he has until June 30th to get in touch. We're not saying we can't care for his dogs; we just need some of their current bills covered and some contact to continue, contractually. If we do not hear from him by then, we will be forced to find new homes for Zoe and Zeus, a decision we do not take lightly.

This is a very tough position for us, and I have debated about posting on a public platform, but I feel it’s a last resort to try and get their owner to get in touch, and we hope to resolve it with the owner's cooperation. Thank you for understanding and for any assistance you can provide.

Lastly. Please be kind in the comments; we don’t need nasty, unhelpful snarky comments; we just want what is best for Zeus and Zoe and hope we can come to a conclusion for them soon.

Real talk.

We can train a dog.
But if you aren't ready to acknowledge, that you are behind the steering wheel of your dogs behavior after that point. We can't help.

We can show you what to do.
We can teach your dog communication and expectations.
We can reduce unwanted behavior and teach wanted behavior.

But, your dog is a product of their environment.
Your dog is with us, maybe 1 day out of 7 right...

Where do you think the bulk of your dogs week to week generalization, havits, and learning is happening πŸ€”

It's a little confronting right!

We get it.

But that's where community, accountability, and regular check-ins are needed. It's not for your dog. It's for the driver behind the steering wheel.

Do you actually want to see results, or are you asking the same question 5 ways, hoping to hear a different answer...

Your gym trainer can't force you not swing in through the drive-through on your way home, just like your dog trainer can't force you to walk your dog.

Continued practice of your dogs skills is important. Like any habit or skill learned, it is perishable.

Continued checking in, practice sessions, accountability will help you and your dog stay on track.

You are the only one that can hold yourself accountable.

Things to think about this week:
1. How many walks did my dog get?
2. What play sessions did my dog get and what level of arousal did they elevate to, and did I have control at that point?
3. How much free affection did I hand out to my dog today, alone?

But, by joining the academy provides you platform to lean on, gain support, trainers to check in with, and progress moving forward week to week, open chat forums, and group environments to train.

It's not just daily training, it's the support on the days your dog's not at school that's most valuable.

As we come together, our focus is on supporting you the owner to create a happier, more balanced life for your dog.

But we have more than 1 client, always. It's both you, the human, and your dog.

There is your dogs behavior to consider, and then there are your, the humans emotions, goals, expectations, to concider.

Dog Training can be frekin hard sometimes, especially when what the dog needs vs what the owner wants, does not quite align... how do we navigate a humans expectations, letting them know these expectations are not fair to their dog without upset in the process. This has probably always will been the biggest learning curve for any dog trainer.

It's about understanding your vision and goals, and leveraging our expertise to guide you towards these effectively. Not over night, notnwithin 1 hour, but together we can work towards your common goal, with time and support.

Let's unite our efforts and work towards a common goal of enriching our dogs lives and fostering meaningful connections between you and your dog in the process.

25/03/2024

Something that a lot of owners forget or ignore is that, much like most things in life, our dogs' training and behavior also follow this rule.

Use it, or lose it.

In the gym, if you don't use a muscle, it shrivels up, and it loses strength.

The same rule applies for ripe fruit...

It also applies to your dog's obedience, state of mind, and over all wellbeing.

You don't need to feel stuck with your dog's behavior or stuck and overwhelmed because all of a sudden, work is expecting more from you, and your time at home for your dog has become far less.

You can change your and your dog's circumstances.

You can do it starting right now

Don't let your situation l kill your progress and goals with your dog. We are a recourse, we are help, allnyou need to do is get in touch.

That's what the Academy and training maintenance program is designed to do.

Ensure your dog is active, engaged, and using their skills, so when they are home with you, the pathways are firing to their highest potential.

No short cuts.

You have to be decisive, direct, have a plan of getting from A to B, you have to act, and you have to be consistent.

Moral of the story, your dog with behavioral problems or your dog with a lack of obedience won't get better if you don't have plan for putting in the work.
