⚠️ DOGS DIE IN HOT CARS. If you love them, don't leave them. ⚠️ It's a message we share time and time again, and this year, we're calling on you to help us spread that message further.

Did you know that calls to SPCA about dogs left inside hot cars made up a whopping 11% of all welfare calls last summer? This is a completely preventable issue, and one which is causing hundreds of dogs (often loved pets) to suffer.

Here are some quick facts to share with the dog owners in your life:
👉 The temperature inside a car can heat to over 50°C in less than 15 minutes.
👉 Parking in the shade and cracking windows does little to help on a warm day. Dogs rely on panting to keep cool, which they can't do in a hot car.
👉 This puts dogs at a high risk of heatstroke - a serious condition for dogs, with a mortality rate between 39%-50%.
👉 It is an offence under the Animal Welfare Act to leave a dog in a hot vehicle if they are showing signs of heat stress. You can be fined, and prosecuted.

We encourage you to use these - and ask your local businesses to display the posters if they can. Flyers can be kept in your car and handed out as needed.

This is a community problem, and one we cannot solve alone. Help us to prevent more tragedies this summer by sharing this post.

What a wonderful on lead walk today was at ! The crew did amazing with our loose leash skills, holding down stays, passing stock and also a reactive dog. The best bit about going to these spots just after a down pour (which i dont know how we get so lucky dodging it but we love it!) Is that it's super quiet 😁 some of the newer members have a few things we will be focusing and working on and we love watching these pups grow into well mannered canine citizens! Little miss evie our foster from joined us today too!

Happy happy faces definitely feeling the summer rolling on in. We checked out a new trail today. Everyone had a blast hopping and bouncing through the long grass and even managed to slot ourselves into it apparently too 🤣 the nice cool breeze was lovely at the top of the hills!

Play date today! I wasn't able to walk too far today so we took the crew to HQ for some fun in the sun. There was lots of play and we worked our brains with some recalls and emergency recalls. We helped some of the younger crew with their manners and all the pups had a blast!

Wednesday Crew 🐾 We met up with some friends and all the doggos did amazing maintaining our loose leash and down stays very well! Socialization means lots of things like getting out and about being neutral in environments and it is not running up to say hi to every dog we may see, this also takes a lot of time and training to get to what you see in our videos and setting a dog up for success to begin with is key.
