✨️TRAINING TIP: Getting started with your slip leash
It's leash week! Which means that that we're offering $5 off our handmade slip leashes and posting leash related content this week. 😂
Here's a video on how to put your new slip leash on your dog correctly.
Remember to feed the mainline through the ring at the bottom of the leash and NOT the handle.
The slip leash should be high up behind your dogs ears, not sitting low down on their neck. Slips are designed for training your dog to loose leash walk, aka teaching your dog not to pull.
Remember to work on your calm, assertive energy when handling the other end of the leash, don't forget to breathe! 🧘♂️

After working with this incredible pack for so long, I’ve earned their respect and trust through providing calm, consistent leadership. Wherever I walk is where the pack follows - they listen and share their wisdom with any new dog that we come across… like Ralphie!
Ralphie’s only been with us a few months, but he too is learning what being in a calm follower state feels like. And boyyy does it feel good. 🙌

✨TRAINING TIP: Setting Boundaries.
Setting boundaries in and around your home, and when you get to a new space is important to help your dog to stay calm and balanced.
Teaching your dog to stay on a bed/place while you move around, creating invisible barriers for them to learn not to cross (like a bedroom door, or hallway), and making them wait before they steamroll into a new area of the house are good ones to start with.
Here we are on pack day Tuesday (AKA the most exciting day of the week), but before we enter the vast land of controlled excitement, we need to show some respect, patience and enter the space with our heads on our shoulders.
By taking a moment to pause with the pack before they enjoy their day, we ensure they don’t hit the paddock hyper focused or fixated on anything.

Small video from Saturdays barking mad dog event. This dog was charging and having issues with all the other dogs there. I offered to assist the owners - quick change of leash and the right calm, assertive energy and he was much happier following in a balanced state of mind.
One of our original pack members Freddie loves the mud!
