Using EquineCare Probiotic Topical Spray on minor rubbed raw areas and minor wounds can promote healing and help prevent infection. The probiotics in our spray support the natural microbial balance on the skin, which may reduce inflammation and speed up the healing process. Additionally, our beneficial microbes compete with harmful bacteria, lowering the risk of infection in the affected area.

For raw or sensitive skin, initial applications of EquineCare Probiotic Topical Spray can sometimes cause mild stinging. To ease this, try diluting the spray 50/50 with water for the first couple of applications. After that, it should be comfortable to apply the spray undiluted.

4ļøāƒ£ Gut Imbalance Happens Easily āš–ļø
Antibiotics, stress, travel, diet changes, and even weather can disrupt the gut microbiomeā€”leading to issues like diarrhea, weight loss, and dull coats. Probiotics help restore balance!

5ļøāƒ£ Probiotics Improve Coat & Hoof Health āœØ
Better digestion = better nutrient absorption! Probiotics help horses get the most from their food, leading to a shinier coat, stronger hooves, and healthier skin.

6ļøāƒ£ Not All Probiotics Are Created Equal šŸš«
Many dry or powdered probiotics lose potency before they even reach the gut. Liquid probiotics, like EquineCare Probiotic, are more effective because they stay alive and active until they reach the digestive system.

Love this post from Mickie (one of our Australian stockists).

Horses need a minimum of 4 hours sleep a day.
Unlike people horses rarely sleep at night. They are in fact quite active in the dark.

In our herd of three, often one will go down and two will keep watch.

Horses need about 60 minutes of REM sleep over a 24 hour period. If the horse doesnā€™t sleep well over a few days, it can have significant impact physically and physiologically.

This can result in narcolepsy and the horse just dropping off on his feet.
If your horse is stabled at night, keep lights off. Horses have great night vision.
If your horse is stabled for long periods of time like they are at the race track or places like Centennial Park, make sure there is ample bedding.
We donā€™t like lumpy or hard surfaces to sleep on and neither do they. Lush clean and plentiful shavings and some rubber matting underneath. This will also prevent sores.

Try to minimise excessive noise. Horses are light sleepers. Donā€™t start up your whipper snipper at a time when itā€™s your horseā€™s usual snooze time.

Companionship helps horses feel safe. If there are other horses around or they have mates over the fence, the horse will be more inclined to relax and have a snooze if he knows someone is watching out.

Check your horseā€™s joints. If your horse has joint pain, he will be less inclined to lay down and get back up.
Watching horses get up and down is pretty awkward at the best of times.

Hi Team, I just had to let you know how amazing your products are and how they have helped our herd. I mean look at the shine on our resident Hippo Henry, no brushing this is just him as his gorgeous naked self!! Thank you so much we are very much devoted users!!

We love hearing how our pre and probiotic gut supplements are making a difference, and Hippo Henryā€™s shine speaks for itself!

When it comes to dosage, thereā€™s no exact one-size-fits-all approach, as every horseā€™s gut microbiome is unique. Some thrive on a daily dose, while others do well with every second day, like Henry. We always encourage owners to observe their horseā€™s condition and adjust as needed to find the right balance for optimal gut health and overall well-being.

šŸŒæ Why You Donā€™t Need to Remove Scabs When Treating Mud Fever with EquineCare Probiotic Spray šŸŒæ

With our probiotic topical spray, thereā€™s no need to remove scabs while treating mud fever. The probiotics work naturally to restore a healthy microbiome on the skin's surface, reducing harmful bacteria and calming inflammation. This allows the skin to heal gently and effectively without disturbing the protective scabs.

In fact, removing scabs can slow healing by exposing raw skin to new infections. Instead, leave them intact! Tiny gaps in the scab and the surrounding skin allow the probiotics to work their way to the underlying tissue, where they help balance the microbiome, reduce harmful bacteria, and support the skinā€™s natural healing process. Additionally, the scab itself provides a stable environment that can retain the probiotics and their beneficial effects longer.

EquineCare Probiotic Spray promotes healing while minimizing irritationā€”because sometimes, nature does it best! šŸŒ±

Why liquid probiotics for your horses gut health?

Liquid probiotics are superior for your horse's gut health due to their rapid absorption and easy assimilation into the digestive system. Unlike dry probiotics, liquid forms offer quicker action and are more readily available for the gut microbiota, promoting a balanced digestive environment and overall well-being for your horse. Additionally, liquid probiotics often contain no fillers, ensuring your horse receives only the beneficial probiotic strains without unnecessary additives.

"Spent hundreds and hundreds on vet bills for this issue then discovered probiotic and itā€™s all gone in no time ā€¦ amazing product!!"

Happy to read this comment from Craig on our post about treating mud fever. Our microbes outcompete and overwhlem the pathogens causing the infection...and no need to remove any scabs.

10/10!! Highly recommend
Amazing product and even better customer service! The only thing thatā€™s worked for my mareā€™s greasy heel and just the best non painful, non invasive treatment out there. Got in touch with the company with a few questions along the way and they were super helpful!

Thanks for your review Alyssa. Happy we could help. (pic for attention)

šŸ“šŸ‘£ Keep an eye out for these early signs of thrush in your horse's hooves:

Foul Odor: A strong, musty smell could indicate thrush.
Dark Discoloration: Look for black or grayish areas in the hoof.
Softening of Tissues: Check for any soft spots.
Presence of Discharge: Watch out for a thick, black discharge.
Sensitivity or Lameness: Notice any reluctance to bear weight or sensitivity when handling the hoof.
Changes in Frog Shape: Keep an eye on the shape of the frog for any distortion.

Consider using our EquineCare Probiotic topical spray as a preventative measure to maintain hoof health. Early detection can help prevent complications. Regular hoof care and a clean environment are key!

Equinecare Probiotic

EquineCare Probiotic is a simple spray on treatment for minor skin abnormalities caused by bacterial and fungal diseases such as mud fever, rain scald and thrush.

EquineCare Probiotic is sprayed directly on the infected area. Unlike traditional methods of treating mud fever/greasy heel it is not necessary to remove the scabs from the horse. Our product contains beneficial microbes which essentially overcrowd the pathogens causing the disease. Once the tissue is healed sufficiently the scabs will come away naturally.

EquineCare Probiotic is made from a blend of naturally occuring beneficial bacteria, yeasts and fungi. These are GRAS listed (generally recognised as safe). Our spray is an effective, natural, non-toxic way of dealing with these conditions.

Please feel free to contact me by phone or email with any queries. We have stockists throughout Australia and NZ or you can shop online (we courier within 24 hours).
