🔸️ Calm & Confident - 1 hour includes pick up/ drop off. Visiting nearby places that are safe to explore for your pups vaccination status. We build on confidence, appropriate meetings & leash manners. Pups 10 + weeks $65.00

🦮 I'm so proud if Maverick, Oakley & Chase plus their humans who turned up for today's walk & train.

🐕‍🦺 Each dog had a different goal in mind and everyone walked away feeling accomplished.

Do you have a dog that pulls on lead? Or are they easily excited, jumping and barking when they see other dogs?
Perhaps things are okay but there is room for fine tuning.

K9KIND are launching a new owner led walking group, where you get to take your dog out with others in real world situations, while working on their leash skills under the guidance of a dog trainer.

🌞 Happy Hounds 🐕‍🦺

Milo had a forest adventure 🌲 while Jay Jay had a suburban stroll & a visit to the vets 🏡

Working in a vet clinic I can confirm that most people can not weigh their dogs. This can trigger stress and anxiety for both pet & owner before they've even seen the vet. Regular treatment free visits and weight checks at the vet will help reduce the fear associated with the vet clinic for your pet (and you!)

🧸 Milo 🐾

Today was our first 1:1 walk & train session. Milo has had limited outings so I focused on him feeling confident in a new environment, tons of sniffing & a little obedience work at the end when the sensory system and calmed down. 🧘‍♀️

I'm very excited to be working with this lovely boy again ✨️

🐾 Bo ✨️

Today we caught up and worked on our recall and building engagement theoufh play. We used a polarfleece tug & puller rings, Bo loved both!

🏃‍♂️He is a very active little dog so games like tug are going to help get his engagement when in a distracting environment such as the park. Bo loves food but it just doesn't cut it when there are more the surrounding smells are more enticing.👃

✨️ At the end Bo showed me a few of his tricks he'd been working on. 'Paws up' was one of them and his human had improvised with this container which I thought was very cute.

🌳 Today we went to a local reserve and did some farm, forest & street walking.

It was an exciting day because previously we had only driven 5 minutes from Jay Jay's house as he was anxious in the car. Getting him to a place of feeling confident that he now jumps into the car and isn't worried traveling means we can go to more exciting spots.

Both Jay Jay and Rowdy were very relaxed and enjoying sniffing all the different smells they came across.

I love the calm energy that low ratio dog to handler walks offer.

These guys are high achievers when it comes to dogs on logs 🪵

These are the best logs I've found so far, so great that I want to replicate them at home.

🐾 BO 🐾

I've had two sessions with Bo and forgotten to take a photo at both so his mum sent me this 🐕

Bo is 8 months old and displays all the typical adolescent behaviors we would prefer our puppies didn't 🫣

Lucky for Bo he has a dedicated owner so we can work through these so he is more pleasant to be around in the home and out on walks.

Bo is a very energetic, jumpy and loving boy. He just wants to say Hi 👋 and he's small so he thinks the best way to do that is jumping all over you. Bo also has no ears as soon as he's in an environment that stimulates him more then the backyard.

We have begun teaching Bo new behaviors and games that earn him rewards. Bo now knows what the 'yes' marker means and loves working for that yes!

Today is hot & humid 🥵

We had a casual walk around the park, sticking to the shade where possible. Jay was pretty exhausted from the heat so we just stuck to enjoying the walk.

Essentially, reading the dog and the situation is the most important thing for me to ensure they are enjoying themselves. Yes, engaging the brain and getting them to 'work' is great but if it's hot with 95% humidity they won't be having fun & chances are you won't be either 😉

An afternoon in the sunsine ☀️

Today, Jay met Rowdy and they got to hang out on the farm 🚜👩‍🌾

Jay got to explore lots of new smells and work on his recall using a 10m line. He is such a good! 🐕

We ended the walk, chilling out in the shade to catch our breath and get in a good tummy rub 🌳

🪨 Today, we went rock climbing!

Jay Jay loves climbing, jumping or posing on objects we find along the way on our walks.

What does this do for Jay Jay?
🔸️ Builds confidence
🔸️ Coordination and balance
🔸️ Engages core muscle groups
🔸️ Focus while having fun
🔸️ Working for a reward
🔸️ More fun then sit/ down/ stay

Jay Jay also has high prey drive around birds. We sighted the Pukekos and were able to stay engaged and calmly wait before moving away from them and sitting 👏

✨️ Jay Jay & Oskar ✨️

Jay Jay was joined by Oskar & my sister Tash. I've unfortunately injured myself ao needed an extra pair of hands with lifting Jay Jay.

Oskar was a great little companion and offered Jay Jay some quiet support in areas he was a little unsure of.

There is so much for your dog to gain from a 1:1 or paired walk.

🐾 Exercise - a structured walk provides just as much exercise as paddock zoomies
🫘 Treats - positive reinforcement for desirable behaviors
🐕‍🦺 Leash Walking - keeping up those loose leash skills
🐕 Free Time - long lining or offleash (when suitable) allowing freedom to sniff & explore
🪢Games - tug or puller ring play as well as scatter feeding and training games to engage the 🧠
🚶‍♀️Focus - with 1:1 or paired walks the handler to dog ratio allows for direct focus to be placed on you pooch

We braved the weather and had a 1:1 walk around town.

We got to know one another while practicing our loose leash walking & recall.

Jay Jay enjoyed sniffing all the good spots and checking for 'p*e mail' left by other dogs 🐾🐕‍🦺

Dash & Yvonne acing their placement work 👌 These guys really put the work in at home.

Today I got to meet the incredibly lovely Nala and her mum. We worked on leash skills and shaping behaviors to help form better behavioural patterns when on leash. 🐾 Nala is so cute and it's always lovely to work with a dog that has been given a second chance through rescue 🤎
