Guess who’s joined the pack? 🐶🐾
We’re excited to welcome Sophie, our new Veterinary Nurse at Pet Vets Manurewa! 💕

Sophie graduated in 2022 from Vet Nurse Plus and began her career at Town and Country Vets in Drury before joining our team.

Her favourite part of the job is meeting new furry friends and caring for them while they’re with us. Outside of work, Sophie loves spending time with her own fur babies and getting creative. 🎨🐾

🐈Tips for a Cat’s Fear-Free Vet Visit🐈

🐾 Carrier: We recommend a carrier that opens from the top. Make the carrier a safe haven for your cat. Leave it out and open, give treats in cage, put a favourite blanket, towel, or toy inside the carrier to make it cosier.
🐾 Help familiarize your cat to the sounds and motion of the car by taking your cat for short trips.
🐾 Spray your cat’s carrier with the synthetic pheromone, Feliway.
🐾 If your cat is a foodie, use a favourite snack to attract her into the carrier, .
🐾 If your cat is very stressed, discuss medication such as Gabapentin with your veterinarian. Gabapentin can make the trip less stressful for everyone.
🐾 In an emergency situation, use the “burrito” trick. Snuggly wrap your cat in a blanket or towel with just their head out

Cheetos has mastered the art of stealing hearts 💕. He had non-healing tail tip injury. Cheetos underwent tail tip amputation today at Pet Vets Manurewa. Cute Cheetos wearing the trendy cool collar for his post surgery recovery🐾💙

Jess graduated at the end of 2024 from Vet Nurse Plus. She joined Pet Vets as a full time veterinary nurse early this year. She spent last few years at Pet Vets for practical training for her course. Jess enjoys getting involved in all areas of nursing and enjoys the variety that each day in the clinic brings.
Outside of work, you'll find her out in nature, at the gym, or spending time with her two much-loved cats, Trixie and Bodhi.
