Sam’s walk today was a delightful walk. He has changed from a very anxious, frightful and stand off type of dog to now a very happy, excited and pleasant dog. Patience has been the key and it’s paid off. Seeing Sam come out of his shell and being the dog he’s meant to be has been a very successful goal.
Today we welcome Kiwi. He is such a sweet boy and a really well behaved, great walking dog. Took some time to get going but once the bond is formed and he is ok with me he will be moving over to pack walks.
Today Sam has shown amazing improvement. He was waiting for me at the door and was super excited for his walk. He is now doing long line work, working on his recall etc.
Had a good training session today introducing Apollo with Moe as Apollo is about to join pack walks. Special thanks to my wife Cara who runs Wolfies Walkies for helping with the training as it’s all about introducing dogs in a safe environment.
Yesterday Sam had his leadership walk and over the past 3 weeks I have seen Sam’s confidence improve over not only in his walks but also greeting me in his home. Yesterday was the biggest improvement where when he saw me he came running to me with excitement, he wasn’t scared ,he didn’t freak out or bark at me. He wanted pats and wanted to go for his walk.
Today we made progress with Sam as he has built up anxiety and freaks out with any sudden movement. Decided to give him a little run in the middles of his structured walk which he loved and was a good break for him mentally. He approached me at the start of his walk whereas last week it took a while for him to warm up to me.
Today was also Remis last walk but hopefully will see him in the future.
What a great week as everyone has improved a lot. We start of with Apollo with his off lead work and his behaviour with other dogs as he gets too seeing other dogs he just wants to play. Remi this week was a bit tired and over stimulated so did a shorter walk and a little play with his ball will work more next week. The Friday pack did exceptionally well as all were off lead and listened well as there were logging trucks passing by.
