Missing my little shadow..

Thank you everyone for your beautiful messages of support and condolences.They helped carry me through the past week.We get Butters ashes home today.It will be great to have him home but also its very sad.The house has been so quiet without him.He had such a large personality.He was my little black shadow.There is a huge hole in our hearts. His 'sister' Bella has slept with him all these years so I got her a soft toy teddy for company at night.She was scared of it at first but I found her last night cuddling it. It was bittersweet to see.We tried having her sleep near us but she wanted her pen and kept toddling off to her comfy bed there in stead. Due to her great age she is prone to a p**p some nights and also too frail to stay on our bed with us in case she jumps off when we are asleep so she cant sleep with us.She has more one on one time now.She is cuddled and kissed more and is still 'shower and work from home buddy'. We are treasuring the time she has left and Im dreading going through it all again.When you have had a furbaby a quarter of your life getting on without them as many if you know feels very strange.Hug all your little puggies and other special fur babies for me today and thank them (and yourself) for being such lovely supportive 'fwends' to Dr Butters and myself for many years.I will keep his page going for awhile longer.xx❤️❤️❤️

Today we lost our beautiful Dr Butters. I am so heartbroken my little black shadow has gone. He lost one of his eyes late last year and has injured the remaining one yet again despite our best efforts and it could not be saved.As he was very deaf I could not let him be deaf and blind.He was in a lot of pain this morning and bewildered and suffering. We lost my beautiful brother in last couple weeks. Two of my most favourite and loved "people' gone so close.Butters was a funny, cheeky, confident mama's boy.I loved sleeping with him he was the best snuggle buddy. He obsessed over me. He was 13.5 and had a life of love and was very spoilt Thank you Dr Melani for your superb care of him.He loved you. His sister Bella who is 15 yrs will be lost without him.Our pets give us some of the best days of our lives and one of the worst.

Dr Butters and his Mummy Jo send their love to all his human and puggy friends who have sent their love and kind messages.He had a dressing change and check up at vet today and is doing well. He is getting lots of love and snuggles and has pain relief. Thank you to his vet Dr Melani and Papamoa Village Vets and team for caring for him. X

Update Tuesday morning
He slept well in night.had breakfast and pain relief at 5am as he was whimpering.went back to sleep for an hour was crying so hes been in bed with me and is asleep at moment.poor wee man. He just wants to be close and cuddles.

Home now and in bed having a sleep after a big day.thank you everyone for your kindness x

Update from Butter's vet..
Dr Butters is recovering from the anaesthetic post-surgery extremely well and is comfortable in the hospital. We are just about to offer him some hypoallergenic lunch.

Sadly, we werent able to save Dr Butters injured eye and he will have it removed today. Your prayers are welcome as he is 13 and anesthetics are always a risk and he will be miserable for awhile afterwards.I will miss staring into his 2 beautiful eyes as he becomes a winky pirate pug.Butter's Mum Jo

Today my Dr Mewani is going to remove one of my 👁 my Mummy is bery sad. Iz not only will be a silber fox Iz will be a piwate now. Talk to you later when Iz come home. Mummy said pwease say pwayers to God for me It will go well.xx

This is me and my sister Bella who for once is not scared of my cone of shame.I habs hurt my cornea in my eyeball and wearing this mean lampshade for too long.My doctors Mewani and Nina gabes me lots of medicines trying to heal me. My mummy is sad that I might habs to get my eyeball taken out and be a piwate pug. Pwease pway for me.xx 👀

Yesterday my mummy took me to see my fabourite Dr, Dr Mewani.I had a fight with my sister Bella because she looked at me funny and now I got a sore eyeball.I don't want to be a piwate pug so I will be a good boi and let my mummy put medicine in my 👀.

This iz me and my cat bwother Dion.Guess what? He was missing for 4 years after we moved fwom Auckland to Tauwanga.One day my mummy got a phone call from a vet in Matamata 70 kiwometers away.He was found on a farm and he iz microchipped.It was a miwacle! He has been back home 2 years now and Iz lubs him bery much.He iz a little cwazy but thats ok.x

It habs been a bery sad time for my Ouma Karen and Opa Andre (Leylas parents) and my mummy and daddy and for me and my sister Bella. Our bootiful friend Princess Leyla has got her angel wings.She waz my first and only girlfwend until she decided we would just be fwends. There iz lots of human tears falling enough to fill my water bowl and much sadness and empty hearts.My mummy said we will all be together one day and do zoomies with young bodies and no pain.That sound bery good.Iz hope there will be snackies and yummy food and long walks and the tv for you to watch the weather and bark at map of Austwalia my Pwincess. I will miss you staying over for company as we hung out in the house and yard.I will miss your big pink tongue.I have tongue poking out starting now too coz the Dr took some of my teethies too.Bella and Iz will keep barking at the cats and people going by for you.I lubs you.See you one day my darling.xx
