I am the owner/operator of Dogs Day Out. I have a huge passion for dogs and I have always had dogs in the family.

We offer a range of services to suit you and your fur baby's needs!
- An action packed day stay with groups of other likeminded pups and adventure walks
- Comfy overnight stays at the farm
- Pick up and drop off service I have certificates in animal management - canine behaviour & training and Animal Welfare Investigations from Unitec. I have worked for 9 years within the animal industry working

at Animal Control, SPCA and now walking and training dogs. Dogs vary in size, age and temperament so I offer a service that best suits you and your dog’s needs. Some dogs need exercise a good run on the beach or through the forest, others just a one on one walk around a park, maybe they just needs a bit of company or some training. Whether it’s a group adventure walk or a solo walk I work with you and what best suites your best friend.

Kima is a gentle soul with a bit of character
Looking for her forever home
Parents would love to have her move county but with health issues she is unable to go
Kima is 8 years old female desexed
She is a bit slower now with age and likes a small walk and tug on a rope toy big cuddles then a wee rest in her big fluffy bed
Not good with cats but will tolerate if kept apart
Kima has grown up with children teenagers preferably now
She has minor health issues but ok with ongoing medication
Kima is particular who she makes friends with an introduction for compatibility will be required
She would make a great companion in the right family

It breaks our hearts when an animal in our care doesn't get any adoption interest 😢 💔

This friendly boy at our Māngere Centre is named Major, and sadly nobody has put their hand up to take him home... yet. He's about two years old and was found all alone before coming into our care.

He's a playful and affectionate dog who loves cuddles, and going on adventures! He is full of beans, and would need to go to a property that is fully fenced.

Major is very clever too - he's waiting to meet you and show you his best handshake, which he's very proud of 🐾

Our Story

Dogs Day Out Auckland was established in 2016 by animal lover Linda Schwanner, she has a huge passion for dogs and has always had dogs in her family while growing up, and with her own family and children. She has two rescue dogs, Brady and Pepe and a rescue cat Fuff Fuff.

Linda has worked within the animal industry for 12 years, volunteering and working at Animal Management from 2006 to 2011, The Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals (SPCA) from 2010 to 2016 and now walking and training dogs since 2016. She has certificates in ‘Animal Management - Canine Behaviour & Training’ and ‘Animal Welfare Investigations’ from Unitec - Institute of Technology.

Dogs Day Out Auckland offers a wide range of services from pet minding and adventure walks, to specialised care for dogs in recovery. And recently cat feeding and care.

Dogs vary in size, age and temperament so we offer a variety of services that best suit you, your schedule and needs as well as your doggy’s needs. Some dogs need a lot of exercise with a good run on the beach or through the forest, others just a one on one walk at the park, maybe they need a bit of company and TLC or some specific training. Whether its group adventure walks with the big kids or little kids, a solo walk or specific training, we work with you to select what best fits your dog.
