[email protected] Auckland Canine Agility Club has been training agility dogs since 1991. We are a dedicated bunch of enthusiastic and keen competitors. Our instructors are all experienced handlers who have competed at senior level and freely give their time to teach and encourage others to

get the best from themselves and their dogs. The club trains every Friday 6.30pm at Waikaraka Park, on the corner of Neilson St and Captain Springs Rd, Onehunga. We also offer beginners classes twice a year, these will be advertised on our page, let us know if you are interested in joining the next one. You are welcome to visit us on a training night to observe and see if this is for you and your dog. The sport of agility is suitable for all sizes and breeds of dogs, including mixed breeds. It is an active sport and dogs need a general level of good health & fitness (including not being over-weight), reasonable off lead control and a basic level of obedience. We only train dogs after they have reached 18 months of age and do not recommend beginning to train dogs older than 6 years.

Did you know that in combination with the amazing courses that our stellar judges have created for our competitors, we’re also going to be having a few fun “side quests” for people to take part in throughout the weekend?

Does your pup love a photo op? Would you love a photo with your beloved dog to capture the memory? Why not visit our photo booth for the weekend?! We’ll have a cute little photo booth set up besides the stall that all competitors and bystanders may use to snap a photo or two! In addition to this, if you post your photo to your social media story and tag both and - your name will go into the draw to win a 10 kg bag of delicious Nutrience Sub Zero kibble and a $60 Brya Ingram Photography voucher!

We’ve got the photo booth, so why not take advantage of and her services over the event? Mix up event action shots with some cute portrait photos for your memorable keepsakes!

🐾🔍 Find the ACAC Coins
Do you enjoy a good treasure hunt? Well, adventurer, here’s your chance to help the club find their valuable ACAC coins that have gone suspiciously missing! Pack your magnifying glasses and trail running shoes, because the person who finds one of the ACAC coins will be rewarded for their endeavours.

🐾💛 Kindness goes a long way
Is there a person who has a reputation of being a genuinely good person, who is supportive and a massive beacon for others to look up to? Well, here’s your chance to show your appreciation for their kindness! We will have sticky notes and pens available for you to write down your nominations for who deserves our “Take the Lead” spot prize. Nominate one, or a few, people who you think deserve some recognition by 12 PM on Sunday 16 March 2025 as all sticky notes will go into a bucket and a winner drawn by one of our lovely judges available at the time!

⁉️ Will you be brave enough to conquer the side quests?

Auckland Canine Agility Club (ACAC) are proud to announce that will be sponsoring our doubleday championship event with some delectable goodies for our place getters!!! 🥩🥓🤤 We are absolutely blown away and so grateful for the generous contribution this premium brand has made to our little show! 💛💙

Great Weekend at the Ribbons!

What a fantastic time seeing our members, both new and old competing at the Ribbon Trials over the weekend. A huge thank you to Akarana and Manukau clubs for hosting such a wonderful weekend!

A real highlight was witnessing our newly competing members be so truly positive and encouraging of their dog and handler team success. It was heartwarming to see the entire club supporting and celebrating each other’s successes, regardless of whether they took home a ribbon🎀

🎉🌟🎉A big congratulations to Janetta, Sandra, Ellen, Natasha, Michael, Trish, Rachel, Jo, Suse, Kelvin, Jen, Andrew, Conan, Rebecca, Ashleigh, Kate, and Teemo for competing this weekend! That’s 17 of our members enjoying the sunshine☀️, spending time with their dogs🐾, and contributing to the amazing, supportive ACAC team environment.

A note to our 2025 Newbies
If you're just starting to compete, here are a few things to keep in mind:
• Some of the best and most beautiful runs can still end in a DQ due to just one second of lost connection - don’t be discouraged!
• As your dog gains confidence in the ring, you’ll need to adjust your handling accordingly. This may sometimes result in a DQ, but how awesome is it that your dog is having fun and picking up speed?
• Set your dog up for success; while walking the course, think about what success looks like for your partnership and be sure to celebrate it!

Congratulations to Waikato Agility Group - WAG on a wonderful 30th Anniversary show!

A few of our ACAC members had a great time competing on some really great, testing courses. They provided an opportunity to practice skills in the ring and a competitive environment which for most dog and handler combinations is very different to training environments.

For some of our ACAC newbie members who are considering having a go at a ribbon trial next month: a 'disqualification', or 'DQ' can be just as valuable in your training journey, so make sure you set your own goals and we'll all be there to help you celebrate your form of success.

It was really wonderful to see so many of our ACAC members participate in the Counties Agility Champs this weekend. Everyone steps into the ring with different criteria for what a successful run looks like, and I think it’s fair to say that most of us achieved some personal wins we’ve been training towards. 🧨ACAC Results JDT Benefit Show 6 X Jumpers Champ Event, June 2024🧨

We had a good ACAC presence at the recent show in Cambridge this past weekend (29-30 June 2024)!💪 Each and every ACAC member that participated in the championship event did beautiful work, which resulted in individuals reaching their own personal small goals and some members walking away with clear rounds and pretty green and blue ribbons. ACAC Results from Hawera Indoor 3 X Agility Champ Event, June 2024💥💥💥

Over the weekend, a few of our members travelled to Hawera to attend the famous Indoor show for 2024! A huge congratulations to Melissa and Nox for not only going clear in their first Senior weekend, but also going clear to make it a first with their first challenge towards Agility Champ! What an awesome team they are becoming! 🎉🎉🎉

✨️ACAC Results from North Taranaki 6 X Jumpers Champ Event, May 2024✨️

Over the weekend of 11-12 May 2024, a few of our Auckland Canine Agility Club members ventured to New Plymouth for the 6 X Jumpers Champ event, and some walked away with some outstanding results. A huge congratulations to Melissa & Nox for receiving their very first challenge in Jumpers A during their first weekend in the class! Such an outstanding achievement. 👏
Another huge congratulations to Julia & Kira who had a stellar consistent weekend in Jumpers A, with 4 / 6 clear runs and gaining another challenge towards grand champ! 👏
A big well done to Janetta & Sasha & Cheetah who did some very beautiful work in some very tricky courses.👏
And a big congratulations to Pascalene & Nadira who received their final win in Jumpers B to graduate to Jumpers A after achieving 33 clear rounds (in total) in the grade.👏

A huge thank you to all who lent their helping hands this weekend at the Show. We're deeply thankful for the exceptional support from our non-member scribes, George, Donna, Diana, and Ingrid. Their commitment to our cause made a remarkable impact. A special shout-out to Ronnie for spearheading the coffee service, a clever tactic that significantly bolstered our fundraising efforts. Our heartfelt thanks also extend to Suse Partner for graciously providing the gazebos. We're particularly grateful to those who enlisted family members and friends, whose involvement played a pivotal role in ensuring the smooth flow of the show. Mariane and Ellen, your exemplary management as show managers did not go unnoticed; your dedication was truly inspiring. And to all the ring managers, your tireless efforts are deeply appreciated.
