Glad to say the road is now open, we'll be opening earlier tomorrow if anyone needs to drop Cat's off.

Hi Everyone
Unfortunately there has been a serious accident very near our location in Awahuri. The road is closed at present. I will advise when it reopens.

For all owners dropping of & picking up the Cat Motel will be open later this evening than usual

At 1:11pm northern Manawatū, including Feilding, is in a 6hr severe Thunderstorm Watch from 1:02pm to 8pm tonight ⛈️

MetService has forecasted that a slow-moving line of thunderstorms may bring periods of heavy rain, hail and localised downpours of 25-40mm/h.

Rainfall intensity can cause surface and/or flash flooding, especially in low-lying areas such as streams, rivers or narrow valleys, and also lead to slips.

STEWART ROAD TEMPORARY SPEED LIMIT

There is a temporary speed limit of 70kmph in place for the majority of Stewart Road due to safety concerns.

The road surface is slippery at present due to the bleeding of the bitumen. We are awaiting the arrival of the water cutter to carry out remedial works.

Manawatū District Council thanks you for your patience and regrets any inconvenience caused.
