And the love continues to flow in for our gorgeous wee Lani. I’m still amazed to this day by the support shown to both Lani and I in a time of hardship which is starting to finally feel like a long distant memory!

Today, we received this amazing care package thanks to Judith Wright from Pet Care Kaitaia! Both Lani, myself and Smudge are all going to enjoy these amazing treats! 🐶❤️

I feel so lucky to have had all the continuous backing and support behind me as if I didn’t, I wouldn’t have Lani home with me, happy and healthy, as she is today. I still can’t say thank you enough 🥰

Winter calls for night walks in the dark! 🤦🏽‍♀️

Lani got her first proper groom from my amazing groomer yesterday, she was a little nervous but we got it done. So happy with how far she has come and how comfortable she is starting to become around strangers being close to her and handling her ❤️🐾

Sorry for being slack on the updates, I'm currently isolating at home as I am positive for covid 🦠🦠

Lani is doing absolutely amazing, she is
fully settled in and has the best personality. She follows me around everywhere and won't let me out of her sight. She is full of confidence and living her best (spoilt) life! 🦴

Thank you again to everyone - I couldn't have got Lani home safely without the help of each and every one of you and I could not imagine life without her! Furthermore, re Hopkins Horse Transport, I have filed a detailed police report further to what was filed while she was missing and this is currently being looked into as it is not a once off situation. There has been multiple others and by multiple I mean ALOT who have come forward and have also submitted their statements to police. I also went to FairGo but haven't heard anything back unfortunately. I never did receive any further payments from Hopkins for Lani but thankfully I have her here happy, safe and healthy thanks to the help of everyone, so that's the main thing 🥰♥️

Best way to cool off on a hot summer evening 😎

I have been a bit slack on the updates lately (sorry) but Lani is doing absolutely amazing! We can now walk past strangers and other dogs on walks and she will just trot along beside me where as she used to try and run in the opposite direction. It is so nice seeing her so confident in herself after everything she has been through. Her favourite place to sleep is on the bed snuggling up beside me. She likes going for drives and will sit on my lap and fall asleep in the car. But I think the best thing is getting home from work and her just SO EXCITED to see me. Nothing like puppy love 🐾♥️💕

Lani is absolutely thriving and it makes me beyond happy and proud! She is now back to a healthy weight and is glowing, she is gaining confidence every day and she is now accepting pats from strangers and playing when we have friends over. I am absolutely in love and she fits right in, she completes our wee family and I am still forever grateful that we were able to find her, thanks again everyone ❤️

Merry Christmas everyone 🎄🎅

Sorry, I have been off my phone the last few days as I was spending quality time with family. Lani has come so far since arriving home. She gets more brave and confident each and every day. New people and big dogs are still scary but we are working on it slowly. She loves her bed time treats and cuddles and fits in just perfectly here. We have been on a couple small walks and today we walked down to the river near our house. She gains a lot of confidence from Smudge and quite happily trots along behind him. Her wounds are healing up nicely and there's no sign of any further seeds so looking forward to 2022! 🥳♥️

Lani is wearing her new harness which was kindly sent to me from Courtney at North Canterbury Dog Grooming! It fits Lani perfectly and doesn't rub or irritate her wee healing wounds. Thank you so so much Courtney 💗

Bit of an emotional glow up post this one.. It shows just how much wee Lani has been through and just how far she has come! From being lost by Hopkins Horse Transport in Blenheim on November 10th, fending for herself out there for 18 days, being found on November 28th (first photo), 4 surgeries, 6 vet visits, 60 grass seeds removed and 23 stitches later. She is one super tough wee cookie. Now (second photo), just 23 days after being found, she is absolutely glowing and has gained over 1kg in weight. She has gone from being absolutely terrified and timid to being so outgoing and cheeky, and watching her grow in confidence daily is heartwarming and so fulfilling. She truly is a miracle and it's a huge relief knowing the pain and suffering caused by Tierney Hopkin's negligence is nearly over!

And another big thank you, this time to Clothes by Portia who sent Lani this absolutely gorgeous custom bandana with Lani's name on. I have been patiently waiting to try this on Lani while she was still wearing her cone collar. Smudge is modeling the t-shirt which is a tad small for him being a solid wee boy, but Lani can't wear this yet as it will upset her healing wounds. What a cool Christmas present idea this is for any spoilt pooches out there and so generous of a small NZ business. Thanks Clothes by Portia ♥️

I've just got Lani home from the vet, she's still quite sleepy from the sedation so I'll be spending the afternoon on the couch keeping an eye on her! The lump on her back paw ended up not having anything in it, but they removed a really large grass seed from her armpit/chest area which explains why it was still quite oozy and not healing! Luckily one of the vet nurses is a groomer and could give Lani a wee tidy up while she was under sedation. 6 days more on the antibiotics and anti-inflammatory's and hopefully that will be the end of the surgeries!! She also had a microchip implanted while she was asleep and a flea and worm treatment.. Onwards and upwards 💗🥰

Lani had a vet check up today, and unfortunately I was right about the lump on her back paw and it will require another surgery which is happening on Monday. This will be her fourth surgery which absolutely sucks! I just want the surgeries to end for Lani's sake.. but it looks like we can start seeing the light at the end of the tunnel. The wound under her armpit/chest is still a bit oozy and she is on antibiotics and anti-inflammatory for another week! Aside from that she's growing in confidence day by day and really starting to show her personality.

I have another thank you also, today to Treacy from Premium Petware who sent Lani down this amazing package of treats and toys! Lani has been super spoilt and I think she knows just how loved she really is. The amount of support and love shown has made this whole ordeal so much more bearable. Thank you so so much 💗

🐕 Lani Update 🐕

Lani has come on in leaps and bounds since arriving home in Queenstown. Every day she continues to get more confident. Her and Smudge are getting along really well and enjoy each other's company, she is alot more confident being outside and is becoming more confident with new people. She has an appointment with my vet here in Queenstown on Thursday to check how everything is healing and hopefully no more pesky seeds, although there is one wee lump that is concerning me that I will get checked out.

I also want to say a huge thank you to Dynavyte NZ who reached out to me and sent Lani some MBS liquid and some Dyara Chews. The MBS is a naturally fermented and brewed "living" synbiotic liquid developed to promote a healthy gut and we have been giving Lani 5ml a day which is so handy as we arent sure what has been through her tummy over the 18 days she was out in the wild fending for herself! Lani is enjoying the sun outside while chewing a Dyara chew which she absolutely LOVES! These are a probiotic dental chew and Lani can't get enough of them! Smudge managed to sneak one too and he also gives it the tick of approval! Highly recommend and so so generous of Dynavyte! 🐾♥️

A big thank you to Vicki from NZ Gifts of Love and Strength who kindly gave Lani and I an awesome care package on our trip home on Friday, it definitely made the trip easier when we didn't want to make too many stops as it was stressful for Lani. She has been enjoying her amazing treats since getting home 🥰♥️

WE ARE HOME!!

After a huge drive home today we finally made it, and Lani and Smudge have kicked it off pretty well! She seems VERY happy to have a wee dog the same size to play with and you can almost see her smiling and the joy in her eyes!

We couldn’t be more grateful for the team at Springlands Vets for looking after Lani so well.

Our fantastic team are very pleased to have been able to care for little Lani and see her health improve each visit. After a traumatic experience and so many surgeries, we wish Lani and her whanau the best and brightest future together. Travel safely wee lady!!

Lani has just been picked up from the vet after her third surgery today, they found 3 more grass seeds and have removed the stitches as the wounds were healing up well, just one disolvable stitch in her back paw.

We are staying in Blenheim tonight and making the long drive back to Queenstown tomorrow morning.. more photos to come tonight as we are having a BBQ get together with our close team in Blenheim who helped me search for Lani, so they can meet her before we head home tomorrow ♥️

Lani update

Unfortunately Lani’s vet visit didn’t go to well.

The vet has requested Lani to go back to them on Thursday for another surgery to remove MORE grass seeds.

We will keep everyone posted on the outcome.

Lani is otherwise doing well and is healing well from her last surgery.

Lani is doing wonderful she has her check up at the vets tomorrow so hopefully she gets the all clear!

Loves her food.. doesn’t like the rain too much but can’t blame her!

She’s also good at letting me know when she needs to go toilet so I can take her outside! Very clever little poppet.
