We are also heading to Rangiora for Northern A & P Show next weekend! The false tails will be on board if anyone needs colour matching 👌

I'm packing the float and the overgrown show pony and heading to Rangiora A&P ➡️ Ashburton A&P ➡️ Marlborough A&P ➡️ ChCh Show ➡️ Nelson A&P and lets not talk about December 🫣🤯.

🎀I will have a handful of my favourite stocks with me all ready to go if you get caught short, but if you want something don't dilly dally as time is ticking.

Does your horses coat look like this when you take it’s cover off currently 🙈😂 then it’s definitely time for clipping!!

💡 Clippers like CLEAN 🧽 coats so the day before you intend to clip shampoo the horse & let it dry completely. Our ShowTime Alpha Wash Shampoo is the ideal solution!

💡 Follow up after clipping with a lovely HSE Hot Oil rinse to remove the loose hair & lift any hidden scurf. Do a weekly Hot Oil rinse to keep that coat looking and feeling amazing 🐴

💡 Cover up to keep that horse nice and warm then enjoy hair free grooming 👏. If you clip once the coat has started to drop fully then your new summer coat should start to come through within a few weeks all going well 👌

Shameless plug ahead!

When you run a showing products business called Best Presented you really should be able to put your money where your mouth is 😜.

While I may not be the flashest rider in the ring or always be showing the winning horse on the day I take pride in the fact I can present them to look like they deserve to be out there. I also love passing this knowledge on by helping others to improve their own show ring turnout.

My top tips for winning presentation -

Always buy the best quality gear you can afford , keep it simple and traditional - avoid tack or clothing fads like the plague, they are just that fads…keep your gear clean and stored well only using your best gear on show day then it will last forever.

Patent anything has no place on or around show horses 😂

Keep it simple / less is more in the horse makeup and rider clothing department you want the judge to notice the stunning horse not your hideous outfit 🫣

When starting out with a new horse take photos at every outing and review what works and what doesn’t - if you don’t like the picture change what you see at the next outing until you get things looking perfect. It may be a simple change of tie or browband colour, maybe the number of plaits or pergolas the horse needs less or more weight, all these factors can help to improve the overall impression.

We have a new shipment arriving next week including some customer orders in the dressage length tails (20cm longer than standard).
These longer tails are becoming more popular now with people crossing over disciplines or where dressage riders want a fuller tail.

I’ll have a dyed black double & standard chestnut double surplus in the dressage length if anyone is looking for a long one!
