This is the story of The Wind and The Willow. I have been alerted to a crack that has appeared in our favourite shady tree making this area a hazardous zone. I would be steering well clear if it’s a windy day and definitely not sit under it at the picnic table. On a still day I think we’re still ok for now 🙏🌳☀️

Normally the boxes that arrive on my doorstep are medical supplies for Daniel but today I opened this box of wonder from Eco horse . You might be forgiven for thinking that I ordered brushes for all our lovely horses but no, I hadn’t. To the lovely anonymous parcel sender, thank you. You made my day (and made me cry). 🥰🎄

We had such a busy weekend ! Lovely to see everyone riding, laughing, enjoying the sun, friends, the odd picnic and giving the XC course a go like Valentina and her pony Gissy who had a lot of fun. Nice riding ! 😍🐴

We are so excited to let you know that the cross country is finally OPEN … phew ! I feel like I’ve been pregnant for 3 years 🤣🤣

What do you need to know ?

The XC has been designed by Glen Draper and is a training venue. Jump heights from wee logs to 95cm. All jumps are flagged. Some can be jumped both ways and are flagged accordingly. Please be aware of other riders, give space, be courteous and look after each other.

Entry fee is $25 per rider. This is to use the XC for 1 hour. It does not include going for a farm ride. If you want to do both please book each separately.

Keys will be issued for XC access. Come see me, I’ll give you a key, write your name on a tag. The key opens the blue padlock on the XC gate. The gate is to be locked on entry/exit. At the end of your ride bring the key back.

XC rules
1. No booking, no entry
2. Helmets must be worn
3. Body protectors must be worn
4. Jump to you and your horses ability
5. Falls must be reported 027-878-7584
6. Report any damage

XC riders are to use the marked route on the map for entry and exit.

My office. Nothing quite like sitting on a hill, listening to Poppins, May, Sterling and Blue contendedly munching, peacocks calling and sheep bleating on a sunny day after huffing and puffing up (and down) the hill moving fences. Should have bought a ☕️ with me 🤣
