My office. Nothing quite like sitting on a hill, listening to Poppins, May, Sterling and Blue contendedly munching, peacocks calling and sheep bleating on a sunny day after huffing and puffing up (and down) the hill moving fences. Should have bought a ☕️ with me 🤣
Water Music
As I walk up my driveway I can now hear music created by gentling falling water all thanks to a couple of clever neighbours. Can you spot the upcycled Saddlery Warehouse shopping ?
We haven't just arranged Easter treats for riders, Dunstan Horsefeeds have supplied treats for your horses. Thanks Dunstan !
Fancy a summertime splish splash ? I’ve been asked if horses are able to swim in the pond. The answer is yes ! We’ve had the water tested (e.coli<16ppm). At its deepest point the pond is 6m deep. Shallow beaches are around by the picnic table.
I think for many of us this year it feels like the earth has been spinning around the sun way too fast, that it can’t possibly be December already … but here we are. I have struggled with Christmas for at least the last 10 years so can I just say a huge thanks to all of you who have visited with decorated horses, in costume, delivered hugs and cheery Christmas wishes. You’ve filled my heart with joy.
At the heart of Christmas is simplicity. A mother, a father and a tiny baby wrapped in swaddling cloth in a stable. I hope that where-ever you’re spending this special day and however you celebrate it, that you spend it with people who simply bring you joy.
Merry Christmas !

Coming soon … Clydie Cruising 🥳
It won’t be long until Bella and Mackenzie will be available for Cyldie Cruising. They’re perfect plodders allowing plenty of time to enjoy the scenery. Mackenzie has decided she’s a princess and doesn’t do puddles. I’m sure by the time winter is over she might change her mind 🤣
Bridge Opening
The new bridge has been tested and given a seal of approval by Willow and Blue which can only mean one thing … there’s more exploring to do ! 🐴🏇
Today we had a visit from The Weekday Horse Trekkers. Nataly Schnitzler gave the sound system a whirl and showed 11 riders the start of the warm up routine we do every day in training to gymnasticise our horses before they headed off for a farm ride. It may look boring but has enormous benefits for the horse and for the rider it becomes a quiet (almost meditative) routine. Looks easy but trust me, it’s not. Nataly always says “from the known to the unknown, from easy to difficult, from a rough version to a finer version” so it’s a work in progress every time. I’ve grown to love it. If we were in Europe, I guess we’d call this our first Caroussel 👏
