MATAMATA BREEDER'S STAKES DAY with a number of high class fields. The track is currently a soft 5 but no doubt will be upgraded as the day progresses with the warm weather. We have three runners heading over :

RACE 5 - 2.42pm
BOSS 'n' HIGHHEELS : - 3rd 👏👏👏Gate 7 should give jockey Michael McNab a few options early on where to place in the field. Her work has been very pleasing and she looks in fantastic condition as she's getting deeper into this preparation. With some luck she should be a genuine each way chance.

RACE 6 - 3.28pm
ACQUARELLO : - 2nd 🩷🩷🩷Although its listed race it has drawn a group 1 quality field. She has unfortunately drawn wide in gate 13 so give's us no option but to go forward early on. She looks amazing and is racing in good form, will need some luck but we'd expect her to be running home strongly.

RACE 9 - 5.12pm
PAX MUNDI : A step up in grade after her impressive win at Te Rapa, as you would expect a competitive race on a premier day, but based on her work she should be right amongst them.

NEW PLYMOUTH RACES

The truck has left for Taranaki this morning with three horses on board. The track is currently a soft 5 with the rail out 6.5mts from the winning post.

RACE 1 - 12.30pm
VIGOR HAPPINESS : Fresh up this preparation after much improvement from his barrier trial. He's still a touch immature both mentally & physically but the race day experiences is what he needs going forward. A touch wide in gate 6 but will give in form jockey Lily Sutherland some options early on.

RACE 2 -1.05pm
NKOSI : He has taken improvement from his last start but remains a work in progress. Another that will improve with race day experiences and with any luck we should see a solid finish. Drawn gate 7 with Joe Doyle in the saddle.

RACE 6 - 3.25pm
MARKUSHARDYCUS : We are hoping the step up in trip will allow him to show some form on race day. His work has been solid but he does need to show some ability to warrant continuing with his preparation.

TE AROHA RACES

Two runners will go around today at the Te Aroha Jockey Club. The welcomed rain should make the footing perfect, currently at a good 4.

RACE 2 - 2.38pm
ZIGGY STARDUST - 3rd 👌🏼: Fresh up after a solid trial, this will be a touch short of her preferred distance but looked an ideal race to get her preparation underway. She will only improve with some race day fitness under her belt.

RACE 4 - 3.49pm
CAST OF DIAMONDS - 3rd 🙈: Steps up to the 2200mts over the roomy track where the wide gate shouldn't be too much bother. He continues to work well and Kevin is riding in great form making him a good each way chance today.

TAURANGA RACES - the warm weather continues and many would rather be at the beach than working !! We have a busy weekend once again.

RACE 4 - 2.12pm
POETIC JUSTICE : Knocking on the door to be in the winners circle after four 2nd placings in a row. His work has been solid and we can't fault him once again but will need some luck from gate 13. In form Rory Hutchings takes the ride once again.

RACE 7 - 3.52pm
VAL DI ZOLDO : Trialed nicely at Pukekohe recently and has come through that in great order. Has drawn a touch wide in gate 9 but looked to be a suitable race to get this preparation underway going forward.
