Horses sweat during training – this is a natural mechanism to lower body temperature and prevent overheating. Balance in the saddle is a fundamental part of learning horse riding 🐎

The first lessons usually involve equilibrium exercises to make the rider feel more confident in the saddle and find stable support in the stirrups. At first, these exercises seem impossible to perform, yet they are the key to further correct development. Through them, the rider can build a solid base for correct, clear and comfortable communication with the horse.

🔎The rider's position in the saddle is one of the most important equestrian aids and helps to achieve smooth, soft and clear communication with the horse. Taking this into account, we have created Winderen Knee Protect Solution stirrups with a double shock absorbing system, designed to enable finding optimal foot position and stable support.

An effective seat in the saddle begins with a stable and unchanging foot position in the stirrup, which is often problematic for riders to achieve. During our research, we noticed that the most common reason for unstable support and loss of balance is the rider's foot bouncing off the footpad – caused by a rigid connection of the stirrup eye with the stirrup leather. Horse riding is primarily based on the cooperation between the horse and the rider, born as a result of transparent communication and mutual comfort. Pleasant and effective training depends on many factors, including healthy and strong back muscles.

🐴A strong back allows the horse to carry the rider comfortably while working in relaxation and with freedom of movement. At the same time, a rider must maintain good balance and the correct position in the saddle so as not to disturb the balance of the horse and to use the aids correctly. Taking all these factors into account, we have designed the Winderen saddle half pad to support and protect the back muscles of both horse and rider, and to improve the overall comfort and efficiency of their training.

Saddles differ in the shape of the panels and knee pads depending on the chosen equestrian discipline: we divide them into all-purpose, jumping, and dressage saddles. When choosing the best saddle half pad, make sure that it matches the shape of your saddle. In order to allow proper weight distribution during riding, the saddle panels should sit completely on the half pad, which is why at Winderen we have created 3 different shapes:
