You’ve all heard the news 🥺 In just a few days Catriona will be finishing at The K9 Cabin and then ✈️ home with her family to bonnie Scotland 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿

So I wanted to give you all a wee update …. (I’m not known for my ‘short’ posts so you might want to get a cup of tea 😉)

⭐️ I’m not going anywhere, The K9 Cabin is business as usual for the doggos that I am able to continue with. Franki and I can’t wait to see you again soon 🥰

⭐️ Thank you from the bottom of my heart to all our past clients for understanding that I simply cannot groom the same number of dogs working on my own. It has been heartbreaking having to say goodbye to so many lovely dogs and owners but life never stands still. If you are having trouble finding a new groomer in the Selwyn area please don’t hesitate to get in touch and I can point you in the right direction 👉🏼

⭐️ As the saying goes “all good things must come to an end” but this one smarts just a little. Catriona and I have been friends for years, as have our families, we’ve shared good times, sad times, holidays and more laughter (often inappropriate 😆) than some people enjoy in a lifetime. We had a vision and by crikey we nailed it, creating a business we are ridiculously proud of. It will be strange doing it all without her by my side but I’m up for the challenge 💪🏼 And it’s not long until we head off to visit them which is exciting.

⭐️ With all that said …. you may well find me in need of a hug, some gentle reassurance or singing along to dogs with the finest country music up loud (never did manage to convert Catriona to the joys of country 🎵 ) and if sweet Franki looks at you sadly and sniffs your pockets she will just be looking for her daily cheese tax that Catriona always paid 🧀 🐶

⭐️ For the foreseeable future I won’t be taking on any new clients as I am fully booked with the dogs I am retaining - I will be sure to let you know if that changes 👍🏼

‘Twas the week before Christmas and all through the house, just Miss Franki was stirring, no sign of a mouse …

The stockings were hung by the chimney with care in the hope that doggy treats soon would appear …

The pups were nestled all snug in their (your) beds, while visions of cheese, sausages and floor crumbs danced in their heads 🐶🎄

Merry Christmas to you all 🥰 2024 has been incredible and we thank you from the bottom of our hearts for trusting us to love and care for your precious pups.

The K9 Cabin will close for the year on Thursday 19 December and re-open on Tuesday 14 January 2025.

Franki is delighted (and slightly relieved) to let you know that The K9 Cabin phone is finally back up and running 🎉 She was straight on the 📱 to order more ‘essentials’

Our sincere apologies again to anyone who has tried to contact us in the last week, please try again now and we will get back to you as soon as Franki has finished texting her friends 😉

Can you spot Franki’s tears 🐶 …. how do we explain to her why she can’t text her pals, she’s missing you all dreadfully 😢

Our cell phone provider has messed up BIG TIME and as a result we have been without the ability to send and receive texts since 8pm on Monday night (2 Sept). Today they confirmed our worst fears that the missing texts are not retrievable and are now lost in space 👋🏼

So if any of our wonderful clients have tried to get in touch via our mobile we won’t have received your message and we are not currently able to reply. Frustratingly this may take until early next week to be sorted - we are switching providers as we cannot risk this happening again 😡

Please bear with us as we get this sorted and most importantly if you need to get hold of us please email - [email protected] or send us a message on Facebook.

In the meantime we will let Franki borrow mum’s phone (under strict supervision 😉)

She’s a pretty big job …. the 🐶🏠 is in desperate need of a lick of paint and a wee spruce up 🧽🪣 🎨 (and let’s be honest, its hard work smooching, cuddling, spoiling, bathing, drying, snipping and playing with your doggos so we both need a wee breather too 😉) We have closed for the week to get the painting, cleaning and some minor maintenance done - reopening Monday 29 April.

Thanks to our long suffering husbands for their muscles, height and handyman talents 🔨 💪🏼 Franki, as always, is on hand to supervise and provide quality assurance.

Enjoy your week, especially ANZAC Day on Thursday, and we look forward to seeing you all soon 🐾

Hello to all our lovely K9 Cabin clients 👋🏼

We need your help, as you will all know you always receive a text message reminding you of your upcoming appointment with us. Recently we updated our systems and we have become aware that a small number of our 8:30am and 9:00am clients are not receiving these reminder text messages.

If you have an 8:30am or a 9:00am appointment coming up and you DON’T receive a text reminder at least a couple of days ahead of your appointment, could you kindly send us a text to let us know.

It will assist us to identify where we have a minor glitch in our ‘reminder’ system.
