Hi everyone, I just wanted to put up a post about grooming payments and booked appointments. If you need to cancel a groom, please contact me as soon as possible so I can offer that appointment to another client. Especially coming into the end of the year as appointments are very limited. Missed or late cancelations affect my income if those appointments are not filled. I don't have another income to fall back on, so this is very important to me and the running of my business and day to day expenses.
In September I introduced a price increase on grooming and for the most part that has been received well and people understand that the pricing of everything has increased. I made the decision to absorb the increases in products, electricity, maintenance, insurance etc until it was too much of a burden. There are many costs associated with being self employed and many hours of behind the sceens work that no one sees but myself, emails, texts, messages, photos, social media, booking appointments, maintenance etc. I do my best to keep costs as low as possible and use good quality products so I can offer the 1 on 1 service I do, unlike bigger salons with multiple dogs on site. Now on to payments, Unfortunately, late or no payments have been on the rise lately, I understand forgetting on occasion and I will send a reminder out in that case. No payment is something I struggle with as it really impacts my livelihood and not something I would personally do. If there is no payment I am no longer the groomer for you.
