We’re so excited to have these to try. Products like this are incredibly hard to find in New Zealand, in fact, I haven’t been able to source anything similar anywhere else.

I added some to the birds’ foraging areas, then offered Mickey a piece to try. He absolutely went crazy for it! 😮 The video of Mickey enjoying it really says it all.

😂 You’re absolutely right… Mickey is a parrot, actually a cockatoo.

But if you’ve followed us for a while, you’ll know “Pink Chicken” is just one of his many silly nicknames. When he puffs up into a fluffy little ball, he looks less like a galah and more like a tiny pink chicken! 🩷🐔

Every bird seems to end up with a collection of random nicknames, and Mickey has certainly collected a few over the years. 😂

Getting everything ready for the aviary with a new ladder and swing.

They’re the perfect size for Mickey, but I know the others will enjoy them too.

If I’m cooking the birds need to be safe. The only time he gets put away is for short times when he needs to be safe. Like a child not wanting to spend time in their room he clangs those bells until I let him back out 🤣 a very rare occurrence because I usually cook when it’s his bed time.
