Young Mr. Hiccup had a review of his medication and pain levels with our lovely vet yesterday.

Hiccup's pain is under much better control but he has been a bit finicky with food recently. Hiccup is like a cat Labrador so this is very unusual. Hiccup had blood tests which had some strange elevations on them, so his blood is off to an external lab for more testing. Hopefully results for him Tuesday. 🀞In the meantime, Hiccup is still enjoying his pain relief 😍

Now the oldest in the house (hoomans excluded), Ollie has really committed to the role.

Last Saturday, Ollie refused breakfast and was unable to urinate. With some assistance from Mum, he was able to start passing some urine and we did some basic tests on this. All of his results were completly normal. We need more information, so Ollie has an ultrasound on Monday afternoon to try and get some answers.

In the meantime, Ollie is on pain relief and has Mum following him around the garden like a weirdo to make sure he doesn't need any assistance!

It's been a tough couple of weeks for the extended Nursing Pawfection family! Apparently Brandy felt she needed some company on the other side of the Rainbow Bridge, as so many of my regular patients, who I have know forever have been going to join her. I also have several of my amazing families managing their pet's quality of life and planning their final goodbye.

It's not an easy decision, but our final goodbye is often the kindest, most beautiful thing we ever do for our furbabies.

These photos are just some of the beautiful wee souls who have crossed the rainbow bridge in the last few weeks.

I really missed seeing my buddy Sacha for two weeks over the Christmas and New Year period! He may not have been thrilled to see me on my first day back - or today - but I think he appreciates not going to the vet twice a week. It's so much nicer for Sacha having house visits.

Patch hates being brushed. No really, he does!!! πŸ˜‚I don't believe him either - Look at that smile 😁

How are none of my foster babies spoken for? Dash, Blitz & Gordon are all being desexed on Friday and none of them have found their forever homes yet!

Gordon - Black, Male, 11 weeks old
Dash - Tabby, Male, 12 weeks old
Blitz - Black, Female, 12 weeks old

Gordon would fit into almost any home with ease. He loves everyone and everything - maybe a little too much. He may not have enough manners to live with very young children or elderly pets but would really to have at least one cat friend to burn off his energy with.

Dash is also pretty easy going. He likes other cats and warms to people quickly but he does find loud or unexpected noises pretty scary. He will need someone who can be patient while he settles in and learns the ropes. In return, you'll get a kitty with the softest fur and the loudest puuuurrrr.

Blitz is a bit more fussy. She would like a quieter home. She does loves playing with other cats, but would not cope with a busy house with dogs or young children. She has a strong little personality and knows what she likes!

If you or someone you know is looking for their new best buddy, please consider a rescue baby! You can apply to adopt these little cuties on the Kitty Cottage Rescue page.

Hiccup has clearly been working too hard this morning and needs to get back to bed ASAP!

Cogsworth and his Dad are having a lovely day at home while I cover a shift at the SPCA. The boys have all the fun!

I hope your Friday has been as good as Atticus's! This boy certainly knows how to enjoy a sunny spot. β˜€οΈ

Humans only have 6 muscles in their outer ear, while cats have 32 muscles in each! This allows them to move their ears independently and rotate them up to 180 degrees. With all this range, cat's ears are incredibly expressive and allow them to communicate very effectively. For example, a cat with flattened ears is likely feeling threatened or upset.

Today is Bombay's Anniversary. 🐾

It's been 3 years since Bombay crossed the rainbow bridge. 🌈
He joined my first dog Codie, and has since been joined by Crowley and Brandy. It's turning into quite a party over there. One day we will all be together again. x

Just before Christmas, I visited Bertie the bunny to help with his grooming. His Mum usually grooms him, but he was having a huge shed and his Mum was struggling to keep up with his coat and the pre-Christmas madness.

Bertie can be a bit sassy at times - I do his nails regularly - but I think he was quite relieved to get rid of the extra fur. He was a very good boy 😍🐰
