🚨PARVOVIRUS!!!🚨

To everyones horror we are again dealing with a new surge of Canine Parvovirus in Christchurch, and our area is also affected. As a responsible dog owner, it's essential to ensure your pet is protected against this highly contagious and life-threatening disease.

Parvovirus affects dogs of all ages, but puppies under 6 months are most susceptible. However 3 of the dogs seen in our clinic in the last week have been 9 months old and one was 13 years old.
The virus is shed in the faeces of infected dogs and can survive in the environment for extended periods long after the infected dog is no longer there.

Symptoms of Parvovirus include:
- Diarrhea
- Vomiting
- Fever
- Lethargy
- Loss of appetite
Sadly not all dogs survive this awful disease 😢

Check your dogs vaccination books or give us a call if you need us to check their vaccine status.

There has just been a car accident outside of our clinic, the road has been blocked off but the pathway from Bickerton st way is still usable if you need to reach us 🙂

New Years Hours: closed 1st and 2nd of Jan
Otherwise the After hours vets will be available when we are closed.

Please be sure you have enough medication to get you through otherwise ring us to organise asap.

Just so everyone is aware we are in the process of changing to email reminders for vaccinations and de-sexing’s and have stopped posting physical copies.
We have made this decision due to various reasons, so please check your pets vaccination booklets to see if they are due. We are missing a lot of emails for our clients so if you have not received a reminder and your furr-child is overdue please provide an email to us when you ring to book in.

Meet the newest member of our team!

The story behind this little old lady:
The cold hard life of a stray, made easier by the kindness of those in a nearby workplace feeding her for the many years she hung around and then bringing her to us for treatment when they realised she was unwell. But we quickly learned that she would not be fit to be released back into the world..

So we have decided to give her a proper second chance at life with everything a cat should experience! Soft warm beds, endless food, toys and LOVE! we all adore our old girl and are so excited she had fallen into our lives.

What we need from you: Name suggestions!

A big thankyou to the Cats Protection league for these goodies they gifted us! 😍

They informed us that doing the Feline Fix programme for them this year, we have de-sexed a whopping 448 Cats! 🐈🐈🐈🐈🐈🐈

It is always a pleasure doing these programmes and we appreciate what they do for the community.
