Back home from The South Island Labrador Retriever Club’s Championship Field Trials in Christchurch held over the weekend. Thank you to all that entered over the weekend especially a big thank you to CGDC for all your help running the trials. Thanks to the Judges, the lovely Ladies in the Food tent and especially Penny Lawrence for your help with all the secretary work!! I cannot forget the stewards and the people on the throwers. Unfortunately only 5 members were present for the AGM called 28th November 2019, 7pm in Ohoka. As per constitution this did not meet a qouram and so meeting was dissolved after 30 minutes.
To meet with the constitution we are rescheduling the AGM to be held:

ATTENTION!!

Hi Everyone, I have just had word that Becky Murphy of TCI Vets will also be at Forrester Park alongside Craig Irving and myself on Saturday 24th August 2019.
Becky will be testing and certifying Cardiac, Patella, BOAs and also Semen collecting, testing and freezing. As well as DNA testing for Massey. More information will follow or PM Simon Monson to make an appointment.

BEAR ❤ PLEASE SHARE - Bear is a 7-year-old golden Labrador who is cat, small dog and child-friendly. He is well socialised but barks while playing. He has no food aggression. He loves playing with toys and still acts like a puppy. He was brought up on a farm and is used to running around behind motorbikes. The beach is one of his favorite places. Bear is a good family dog, who is happy to have lazy days but enjoys walking anywhere. He enjoys belly rubs and is very snuggly. He is a Labrador so food is rather important to him. We haven't found anything he dislikes, he is extremely relaxed. Bear will be desexed, vaccinated, microchipped and registered. Please private message us for more information on Bear ❤

Club dogs excel at South Island and New Zealand Championships, October 2017.
Pete Southee & GFTCh Greybanks Georgie won the SI ABRFF, Si Retriever and NZ Retriever and Georgie was NZ's overall Gundog of the Year 2017.
John Stevens and Brynderin Pippa won the SI Retriever.
Sue Sinclair & FTCh Brynderin Ginger Bint were the runners up in the NZ Retriever and won the Bruce Brady Trophy for NZ's best overall Retriever of the Year 2017, Bint also won the CLRC trophy for Best Field Dog of the Year 2017.

Successful club members were Ross Wilson with FTCh Brynderin Ted of Greenpark (centre) winner of All Breeds Retrieve, Sue Sinclair with FTCh Brynderin Ginger Bint (2nd Left) winner of Retriever event and second in ABHR, John Stevens with FTCh Becky of Greybanks (2nd from right) second in Retriever and third in ABHR, Pete Almond with Tussock Tairn Prairie Purl (3rd from Left) first in Novice. Also Gary McDrury (left) with Blackhills Cool Tia Maria was 1st in Limit, and Dave Wilson with Blazing Barrels of Ernlea (far Right) was third in Retriever.
A wonderful, relaxing weekend of trials. Many thanks to our two judges who flew down from Auckland, Sandra Williams and Maree Dickey, plus local judge Stu Sinclair.

The Canterbury Labrador Retriever Club has a busy month coming up in July:

1) Championship Shows 1st/2nd July.
Please note that the stake classes will only be held at the Sunday show. The schedule omits to state that the fee for entering the stake classes is $5 for 3 classes. Please include this amount with your entry if entering the stake classes. Entries close 9th June.

2) Championship Field Trials 29th/30th July 2017.
Please note that our Novice event this year does allow those club members who have expressed an interest, but prefer not to handle a firearm and/or game, to enter. If anyone would like to practise any of the formats please let me know and we will organise some training sessions. Entries close 7th July, minor entries will be taken on the day up until 10.00am. If any club members are able to help out on this weekend, it would be much appreciated. There are always stewarding jobs available, please register your interest by emailing the secretary.
