Why I'm doing

I hate BFCM sales and the tidal wave of consumerism it encourages. Low-quality products made by low-paid workers that we don't really need and quickly end up in landfills.

So this year I'm inviting everyone to join me in celebrating Green Friday.
Promoting
Take time offline to connect with the important people in your life.
Mindful Shopping - Think about sustainability, supporting local, and handmade quality. just because its cheap doesn't make it good.

Green Friday is all about sustainable choices.

With the start of fireworks season here in Aotearoa, here are some tips to keep your cat stress-free.
1. make sure your cat (+ other pets) are safely inside before it gets dark for the next week or so.
2. close the curtains/blinds and turn on the TV or some music to muffle the noises from outside.
3. if you have a pheromone spray now is the time to use it to help your cat stay relaxed and calm if not organic catnip is also good at reducing anxiety and stress in cats so now is a good time to sprinkle some loose leaf catnip on some toys or the floor (they may well get the zoomies but it's also relaxing and will help them sleep after).

Don't forget the proceeds from the sale of all the Community Kickers is donated to a variety of amazing cat charities working so hard in NZ with all the cats needing rescued, fostered and helping find new homes for them.

they are made as a way for me to use up offcuts of fabric that would otherwise go to waste, but they are still filled with the same natural wool and a pinch of organic catnip as all my other cat toys so you know your getting a product your cat will love.

Part of the reason I love being my own boss is that I get to decide what type of business I create and part of that is giving back to community groups. one of the groups I've signed up to help is . As I'm still a very small business I've started the ball rolling with a small donation but with time I look forward to watching my little forest of trees grow.

It's hard work modelling as a top predator in the wild, which is why Taco needed a nap part way through his recent photo shoot - all those ups and downs finding new poses/angles, smiling for the camera and generally looking awesome in his Cat Scrunchie is tiring.

Spring is here and it's time to help protect the birds in your garden from your outdoor cat turning them into. This is the time of the year when even the laziest cat starts to hunt again as the pickings are easy with all the baby birds and fledgling about. A cat scrunchie can make it easier for the birds to spot them especially with the holographic tape that catches the light. Held in place with a quick-release collar your cat will be safe too.

been a little quiet over here at Little Lions the last couple of weeks in part because I took a sneeaky break over to the Coral Coast in Fiji to recharge my batteries. it was glorious to unwind, relax, read a book and one day all I did was sit warm shallow water and watch the little fish darting about. I very grateful to be able to do this (hubby was there for work) and has was just what my soul needed so I can jump back into work again with gusto
