Finally our new seasons goldfish are coming into store.
Bronze comets $4.90
Red Comets $6.50 and $8.95 depending on size
Shubunkins - Low stocks but available in medium and 4 year old size.
Larger fish - small selection, having to wait for them to grow out.
After nearly 50 years of breeding goldfish we couldn't ever see a time of us selling out, that actually happened this year! 😲 Thankfully the boss has had an excellent breeding season, phew!

Looking for a bit of feedback on what fish foods you feed and why?
We already have a large range of fish foods and a lot of our customers follow what we feed, which is mainly:
JBL, Hikari, Repashy, Fish Science, specialty Omega One (Omega One now Deleted)

We also have Aqua One, New Life Spectrum, Sera, Seachem and Fluval/Nutrafin.

I've just added a few "Xtreme" lines - if you use this, what lines do you use and why. It's a higher price point and wonder if we really need another line?

Sorry, been a bit slack with updates. January is mad month with our pond garden season in full swing!
Made a few changes at work if you havent been in:
Reptile department extended
Shifted canister filters to back of shop
Cat n Dog department to be deleted.
You clearly come to us for fish and reptiles so will leave the furry pet supplies to the chain stores!

Absolutely fizzing that Arcadia restock not far away, we are very low in stock and usually have enough backstock until the new shipments arrive - not this time.

New shipment of Flukers dry goods, turtle foods and Hot House Turtle Frozen foods. New reptile hides and bowls now available.

Water gardens topped back up for the last time before our Christmas break. Plenty of water lilies, just keeping up with demand on marginal plants. Managed to get the lilies flowering yesterday. Closed up today as the sky a bit grey.

We close at 6pm 24th December 2024 and reopen at 11am 8th January 2025.
A bit longer break this year - certainly 2024 has been a challenging year for many reasons.

Too often I don't get to share the lovely fish we have in store as they hit the tanks and get sold. Managed to photograph most before they went to their new homes.

A few murmurs about pricing with this shipment and I have attempted to explain to customers in store. We have increasingly been frustrated at the numbers of females we receive with our Peacock shipments. I have asked to pay more to receive "males only" but the farms decline.
We can order say 20 pink peacocks and receive 2 males! That's been the worst case. Best case would be 40-50% males, not all those are premium. This shipment we had 4 quality OB males out of 20 males and females.
If the numbers of males supplied reduce further then it will be uneconomic for us to continue importing due to the low pricing on females. We pay the same price regardless of s*x, same shipping costs and quarantine costs.

We have just had a greenstone pounamu found in our carpark by a customer.
Obviously we would like to get it back to its owner asap, if you have lost one you need to be able to describe it or have a photo please.
