Arion Farm Education Park is a facility run by the National Trade Academy at McLeans Island, Christchurch that allows children to see, touch and feed a variety of farm animals. Children can hand feed animals, learn about the breeds in a natural environment. Donkey and pony rides are available and a picnic and play area with shelter and shade is provided. The park and/or party hut is also available

for birthday parties and corporate functions. The farm is one of the few facilities in the country to focus solely on New Zealand farm animals and farming heritage. Children can learn about farm animals, their history and contribution to the New Zealand Economy. Our school holiday programme (Farmer for a Day) is available for parents wanting to give their children an invaluable experience in animal handling and care. Feed for animals $2.50 a cup, pony rides $5 11am-12pm & 1pm-2pm. Family Pass of 2 adults 2 children 1 feed $44 or 2 adults 3 children 1 feed for $49. Arion Farm is a fun, affordable activity for all children and a good safe place to come where parents can relax! Arion Farm Education Park is open 7 days per week, 10am – 3pm, except Christmas Day.

We want to take a moment to say how much we appreciate all the kind messages, visits, and support we’ve received over the past few weeks after the devastating news of our bunnies being stolen. It truly means the world to us. 🐰💔

As a small thank you, tomorrow (Wednesday 29th October), all children can visit for FREE! 🥰

Also, 1News will be here just after 10am to chat with our community about how much the bunnies are missed and the impact their loss has had. If you’d like to come along and share your thoughts, tomorrow’s the day. 💬🐇

We’ve also got a baby horse (foal) staying with us for a while, so come along and say hello to him too! 🐴

Come and enjoy some time at the farm. We’ll be open each day, including Labour Day (Monday), from 10am–3pm.

It’s been an emotional few days for us after what happened with our bunnies 💔, but seeing new life around the farm has brought some much-needed smiles. 🐣
Happiness really does find its way back, especially with all these adorable new babies arriving lately! 🐥🦆🐷

Important Notice

Due to the strong winds forecast for tomorrow the 23rd of October, Arion Farm Park will be closed.

💔 Another Heartbreaking Night at Arion Farm Park 💔

We are devastated to share that last night, more of our precious bunnies were stolen. Three more have been taken from their enclosures, following the break-in that happened just two weeks ago.

We cannot express how heartbreaking this is. Our team and visitors have been so saddened by what happened before, and now, to have this happen again is just devastating. These animals are not just pets, they are part of our farm family and deeply loved by everyone who visits. 🐇🐇🐇

What makes this even more concerning is that we are not the only ones being targeted. Other parks have also had their bunnies stolen just last week. It is so upsetting to see this happening to so many who care deeply for their animals.

To whoever is responsible, please, we are begging you to bring them back. No questions asked. We just want our bunnies home safe where they belong. These bunnies have been with us for years, and we want them back. 💔

We are now taking extra steps to protect all of our animals, including additional security measures being put in place. It’s a shame it has come to this, but we will do everything we can to keep them safe.

If anyone in our community has seen or heard anything, please contact us or the police. We are so grateful for everyone’s support, kindness, and care during this incredibly difficult time.
