This adorable young girl finished off a very busy week for me with a record number of new and regular customers.

Lola is a very gentle, affectionate and lovely wee pup but what amazed me most today was, that she lost a lot of those „naughty knots“ during a rather „hairy“ trim session but - not her smile!

This lovely girl was certainly well insulated and kept warm throughout the long cold winter in Central but today it was definitely time for the big change.
With spring hopefully just around the corner I decided to go with the inevitable and…. whoosh “a new dog was born” 😅😍

Whenever this smart and beautiful Spoo comes around our Nickie almost loses his „dignity“.🙈
He has such a huge, passionate crush on this boy - it leaves him heartbroken when he gets picked up. 💔
We’re - on the other side - getting slightly nervous as our Nickie is supposed to be our future stud dog….😳😆

It’s flu season and I still felt a bit low when I woke up this morning.
With also Covid lingering around on every corner I cautiously took a test which was, thankfully, negative (again). 😅
Relieved and ready I started my day by welcoming this handsome young man into the salon!😍
We aimed for a cosy and fluffy winter trim and I think, we achieved it. 😅
Louie, you had been fabulous and made my day from feeling sh% #*y to pretty! 🥰

Not often do I have siblings from the same litter on the table but today was my lucky day! 😍
Those two cuties are like peas and carrots - different in appearance but perfectly tuned together and always in sweet harmony. 💖
I love to be and work with the pair as they’re really good fun and easy as! 🥰

Who would have guessed that this beauty is a spoodle?

When Mila came in this morning for the first time she was running and jumping all over the place but was basically scared to the bone.
It took me good half an hour to calm her down and finally we agreed that I’m the „big boss“ and, that she can trust me.
Once this was settled she was as good as gold and happy to let me do what needed to be done - in her case, a very short trim as she hadn’t been groomed for quite a few months!

Sorry, for not putting up any „before pics“ but I was simply too busy and engaged making her feel comfortable in order to relax for the „big shave“ (but believe me, she was a mess 😅).
In my opinion, the short cut really suits her and I think she looks absolutely stunning! 😍

I had the pleasure to work on this lovely lad today.
Despite he didn’t feel 100% he was incredible chilled and relaxed so we whizzed through the groom, having a lot of fun and plenty of spare time for a play and a good old nap (dog only, sadly 😆!).

This sweet, young little girl is one of my loyal customers and today Lola really surprised me.
Due to Covid she had to skip a few weeks in her usual schedule and I prepared myself for a rather tricky session.
No dog in the world fancies a groom where there is a lot of knots/matts to be brushed out and Lola is no exception.
We had to work pretty hard together (as I was so keen not to shave off her lovely, fluffy&very soft coat in winter) but she was as good as gold and didn’t complain at all!😍

Lola, you were a star 🤩 this morning and I was thrilled you still remembered playing your “little trick” on me by jumping high up and straight into my arms! 🥰

Had a visit from those two lovely girls today! 😍🤩

Claudia was due for a full groom, Fleur had just a lovely bath&brush but stayed with us for nice company.

I enjoyed the time with those beautiful ladies immensely but was so indulged working on them that I actually forgot to making them pose for the camera. 🙈
Right at the end, as they had already spotted their mum through the window, I managed to “snap shoot” Claudia but wasn’t fast enough to grab hold of Fleur…
Anyway, in my mind I keep this day with fond memories and tick it off as: “mission successfully accomplished”.

Looking forward to seeing you both again soon! 🥰

This is cute Charli.
She is a beautiful young city lady from Dunedin and came in today for the second time as her parents (not the biological 😆!) are enjoying the weekend up in Clyde.
It was so lovely to see her again and, like the first time, she was ace on the table despite we had to get rid off quite a few nasty knots and matts.
Charli you’re awesome and thanks heaps for being such a good girl! 🥰

Two beautiful Standard Poodle-Gals in one day (from the same household) is as good as it can get!
Lovely Alice and cheeky Mila popped in today and were asking for a good short trim and „high-heel-feet” as they are living on a big lifestyle block hence shaved paws and a short coat means low risk and easy maintenance! 😅
But, of course, we didn’t want to give up on too many features!
After all, they’re still two proud Poodle-Ladies with elegance and style! 😍🤩🥰

You can tell it is winter in Central when you get customers who come in and request a ”woolly trim”. 😊
Sweet wee Bear (16y!) had a rough time lately but recovered amazingly well from a stroke.
I was so very happy to give him a nice and gentle go over and made sure not taking off to much coat to keep his old bones warm….🥰

Whenever Monty comes in (today only for a touch up!) our Nicki is really getting excited - and I can perfectly understand!
Despite the size difference those two fellows play and get on so beautifully - heartwarming to watch on a rainy, cold winter day! 😍
He is such a adorable and joyful wee chap with superbly manners and perfect behaviours - it makes grooming a real pleasure rather than a task! 🥰

Toto is a lovely senior-boy and a real pleasure to have on the table.
Today we had a very long session as I was determined to give him back without a single knot or matt but with a silky, soft and fluffy coat - so irresistible - impossible not to cuddle and kiss the wee fellow!
His calm nature and his patience are extraordinary and I was very impressed how much stamina is still left in this little „old man“!

This morning was particularly nice as I always get such a thrill when from under a sticky bundle of wool appears a real and true beauty.😍
It was a long morning and I had to make some compromises but this lovely sweetie was as patient as a „top-notch-model“ can be and I think, in the end - she realised herself - all that keeping still was worth while…😅

She is as sweet as her name suggests and we agreed - that with winter knocking on the door- to keep her body fluffy but would make sure everybody will be able to see her beautiful cute face! 🥰

Another two newcomers for Central popped in today and - what a joy!🤩
Benson & Kylie are a delicious pair with the wit and spirit of an old married couple (same age, 12, but not related) - devoted to each other in good and bad times.
Today we certainly had a good time as we were flying through the whole grooming process in no time and with a lot of fun & laughter! 🥰

Today I had the great pleasure to meet another new client who recently arrived from Auckland.
Tui, a beautifully aged Spoodle-Lady (nearly 15y) with an amazing thick and shiny coat. The owner informed me with slight concern, that his wee girl is deaf, half blind and has other age related issues.
I found this hard to believe.
To me Tui seemed very happy, was highly alert and equipped with a finely tuned, selective hearing(😆), desperate and keen for a good play with our big boys.
After the SPA-session and the groom she got what she was demanding:
a great runaround and chase with Nicki which they both thoroughly enjoyed!
What a successful morning we all had! 💕🤩

This little fellow was desperate for a good soak and trim.
We started with a long warm bath which he really seemed to enjoy a lot!
Followed by a deep and thorough brush&comb session - which he wasn’t so keen on.
Finally, out came scissors and clippers - and a new dog was „born“. 😅
He patiently let me do everything and it was such good fun, to explore, that underneath all that wool lives a real sweetheart with a lovely cute face! 😍

Today I had a new customer from Roxburgh:
Marvellous Milly, a five year old miniature schnauzer, with a heart of gold!
As with all my first visitors I take a bit of extra time to get to know them better and to bond.
Milly was amazing; she found trust instantly, settled in immediately and was enjoying the full groom as if we had known each other for years.

It was lovely to spend time with you and I’m very happy that you found your way to me, Milly! 🥰

When I opened my Salon last year, magnificent Monty was one of my first customers coming around for a first “puppy-trim”.
Back then he was only 3,5 months old but to me he was already a star! 🤩
Never did I have a pooch at this young age who couldn’t care less about all the disturbances and inconveniences a “full doggy-groom” comes with.
He zoomed off completely from the very first moment I started working on him (in fact, I never forget, he was so chilled and relaxed that he fell asleep on the table) - until he was all finished!
I wonder if he puts himself into “la-la-land” knowing that at the end of the rainbow Nicki will be there - ready for a good play and run around…😅😆
What a beautiful little darling he is! 🥰

I was very excited to meet gorgeous Gordon for the first time today - and I truly loved every minute! 🥰
He moved from Auckland to Central about 3 weeks ago and was surprised how frosty the nights (and coming days) here can (and will) be.
Luckily he has such an amazing „woolly coat“ that we decided to go easy on the trim to keep him toasty warm over the winter months.
I’m so very pleased to have a new regular who is such a special soul! 💕🤩

Today handsome Master Darcy made his debut with me in order to receive his first, fine „hair cut“.
His natural beauty had never been touched by a groomer in his entire life (he is 14 months in age) - hence I was quite limited enhancing his gorgeousness due to severe matting and his strong personal reluctance to the whole procedure.
It may take a few more visits to bring out the real gem to shine but meanwhile he has time to grow and mature into his „adult suit“ to become the true Mr. Darcy as we all know and love him! 😆🥰

This wee girl might be small in stature but gosh, is a real cheeky minx with the biggest und sweetest smile and look; would melt any Easter egg… 😆🤩. Love her dearly 😍

Romeo (13y+) is a real cutie with lots of old school charm. We know each other now for quite some time and it is always a pleasure to give him a fresh trim.
Today he was in a particularly cheerful mood. Very polite and patient on the table but as soon as he was finished nothing could stop him for having a good run around! It was lovely to see you in such great shape, Romeo! 😍

Kizzy and Pye are delightful „pupps“ (about 13 years old!) from the same litter with top notch manners and a fine sense of humour.
I very much enjoyed the time with those two cuties and I think, they did, too.

When I saw this young boy (4y) walking in today for the first time, it „clicked“ instantly between us.
Miles might have missed out on a (few) good trim(s) but he looked still adorable! We agreed on a very short „do“ and I think it was the right choice (for a fresh new „start“). 🥰
