Yes there is a small fee involved but this is only for my piece of mind that I know you will be willing to give him the very best home I could hope for cuddled up on your knee or by the fire .. Our precious fur kids are "indoor only" as this has been what they have been used to .. BREED OF THE MONTH - Jack Russell!

I’ll have to try not to be biased here, given my much-loved wee guy Tommy (who passed earlier this year) was a Jack Russell!

This breed was developed in England around 200 years ago to hunt foxes and rats. They’re lively, independent and clever, but can be a handful!

Jack Russells are likely to be:
🐶 Lively
🐶 Independent
🐶 Clever but easily distracted
🐶 Charming
🐶 Affectionate
🐶 High energy (surprisingly so for their size!)
🐶 Dog friendly (when socialised properly, as with any breed)
🐶 Prey-driven
🐶 They can be a bit of a handful to train and manage!

Jack Russells are from the terrier family, have a very strong prey drive. Their desire to follow their nose can be very strong, which can make them prone to wandering. We have two classic stories about Tommy in my household - one was when he wandered off our property in Waimauku, and ended up getting a ride in a taxi back to our place! 

Another time, while out on a walk he followed his nose deep into a cave at Hot Water Beach and got stuck, needing rescue by the fire service.

So yes, good fencing definitely a must if you have a Jack Russell!

They are likely to have predatory tendencies and be very interested in chasing small animals like rabbits, rats or birds. Cross-fostering with other species in the formative period is really critical.

They’re great little dogs with cool personalities, however steer clear if you’re looking for a small dog because you think it will be more chilled out and require less exercise. As hunting dogs, JRTs have high energy needs and won’t be easy to manage without adequate exercise and stimulation! They thrive on running around, playing games and constant activity, so wouldn’t suggest as an apartment dog unless you’re out with your dog A LOT.

our beautiful kittens went to our vet yesterday for their desexing & microchip.. A big ooops but we now find ourselves with 2 MALES 1 Bluepoint & 1 Seal point.. Our Bluepoint female is SOLD.. THESE guys will be ready for their new homes next weekend after their final vaccination during this week.. Don't be disappointed & miss out on one of these stunning cuddly purring boys..
