Watchdog Doggy Day Care This is a Boutique Home-stay in Central Dannevirke, catering for small dogs up to 15 inches. I take puppies from 4 months to elderly.

Dogs must be fixed, vaccinated, flea & worm treatment. My Services are: Playdates, Daycare, Overnight & Holiday stays. Dogs must be fully vaccinated, before coming on the property. I take puppies from 4 months old to older dogs.

The only type of dogs that can stand the cold weather are, Alaskan malamutes, Samoyed, bernese mountain dog,, Newfoundland & Saint Bernard. All have thick double layered coats, dogs with thin coats shouldn't spend extended periods of time outside. If temperatures are below 20F they can develop Hypothermia or frostbite. Smaller dogs are more susceptible and loss body heat faster than larger dogs.
SIGNS TO WATCH FOR: with your dog getting too cold, includes their limbs becoming very cold, breathing becoming rapid, increased urination, fur standing on end, shivering, disorientation, pale gums and lethargy. A dogs normal body temperature is from 101-102.5F.
Bottom line everyone if you really love your dog & I know you do, don't leave them outside in this cold weather. Also if you get your dog groomed, think about leaving there coats long over weather, the groomer can just do the bits that need doing.
Winter time with my 4 Mini Schnauzer I groom only paw pads, inside the ears, trim around eyes, short beard & under the tail & brush the rest of the coat. I hope this is helpful

Harry back again for another day of fun

2 Guest dogs: A Griffon called James, one of my Masterton regulars, coming to see me now for 4 years, here on holiday. James is such a sweet boy loves tummy rubes & a Cavoodle called Charles here on daycare, hes been regularly coming here for 6 months now.

2 Guest dogs: Millie, Mini Schnauzer 14 years old here for a few days from Auckland & Camilla Sh*t, tuz here again for daycare, getting to know one another in play.
