1st, 5th-8th, 13th - and of course Christmas and Boxing Day!
I am away a fair bit this month competing and teaching, so it is important to give me plenty of notice around when you will likely need semen.
Please advise the above dates to your vets so we can work together to get a result 🐣

Ken is a busy boy this week - here is a video of his swimmers, still swimming very well, up in Hamilton today after we collected last night.
I don’t normally offer weekend collections as with competing and teaching things can be hectic enough - however this mare needed AIing today, so with dressage also on today we opted to collect last night and do an 8pm dash to the airport so it could be on the first flight this morning.

I’ve been getting fidgety over the last few days waiting for this mare to be ready to be scanned….but here we have Quasar’s first pregnancy! We will eagerly await this foal, from a lovely Bellario mare up near Auckland 🥰🥳

SG Stud is proud to introduce stallions that have come on board to our 'Pay on Pregnancy' service!

For mares that come to SG Stud to get in foal/embryo transfer/freezing, we can offer these stallions as ones whereby you only pay the collection fee and shipping costs up front, and then pay the service fee upon a confirmed pregnancy scan (28 or 42 day scan)

A great option for mares that have been tricky to get in foal.

First collect of the season done today to prepare the golden boy for his list of ladies! He has some seriously impressive mares booked, and we could not be more excited for the future of dilute warmbloods in New Zealand.
His swimmers look fantastic 👌🏻 and we can’t wait to start seeing those much sought after little black dots in the months to come.

Spring is fast approaching! 🌸
Quasar SSH will be standing at stud, via AI only, from early October.
As I will be starting him under saddle in the new year, his book is strictly limited, and very nearly full.
We are delighted with the response to this guy, and the quality of mares booked with contracts returned!
If you are interested in using him this season, please get in touch sooner rather than later to avoid disappointment.

A snippet of Ken free moving out in the paddock - I have sent this to a few people who asked to see some video, and wasn’t going to make it “public” as he is so filthy and hairy! 🫣 But given it’s the middle of winter, I think most people can relate to their horses being mud pigs at the moment 🌧️
Much better video to come as soon as he’s under saddle (and clean! 😂 🧼 ) in the New Year.
I count myself very lucky to have this guy stashed away in the paddock 🦄
