Yesterday we had our three lovely foals assessed in the NZ Warmblood Association tour.

All three are by Komet von C and out of very different (but lovely) mares. I haven’t been able to pick a favourite, so it was an awesome opportunity to get the opinion of Matthias Werner who’s family bred their Grandsire, Gribaldi.

A huge thank you to my friends and family who helped me get everyone ready and to Awatea Farms for taking the lovely photos.

Devorow Estelle has scanned back in foal to Komet von C and is looking for a new home.

Stella is a black 2007 purebred Trakehner by Holme Park Flute and out of a Falkensee mare.

She is an absolute pleasure to have around and easy to do everything with.

She comes with a LFG and is available after weaning.

It’s been a busy breeding season and I completely forgot to introduce this stunning c**t who was born at the start of December.

He is by Komet von C (Gribaldi) and out of Sandrophina HH (Sandro Hit x Flyinge Amiral). I’m really pleased with this cross, he’s a very eye catching young man with movement to die for.

He will be available at weaning to a competitive home 😍

Since it’s the holiday season and we feel like celebrating….

Komet will now be available at a reduced stud fee of $1100 inc GST for the remainder of the 23/24 season 🥳

That’s a saving of over $600!

We are able to offer very reasonably priced on stud agistment until your mare is in foal.

Everyone just adores their Komet babies and we would love to see more on the ground next season 🥰

A somewhat unexpected arrival at 5am this morning with our new broodmare Devorow Estelle (Holme Park Flute x Falkensee) foaling a very pretty Komet von C filly.

This special wee lady is a purebred Trakehner and will be available at weaning 🥰

Very excited to welcome Komet’s first foal of the season 😍

Obsidian is out of a Rip van Winkle mare and is a prime example of how well Komet crosses over a thoroughbred.

His owner is absolutely thrilled with him and keen to repeat the match again 🥰

I just love his 4 little white feet!

Our two broodmares Sandrophina HH (Sandro Hit) and Lumiere Argentee (Lutz) are wintering well and enjoying the current dry spell ☀️

These two lovely ladies are both in foal to Komet von C and will foal in late November to early December.

Both their foals will be available to knowledgeable homes 💕

Underneath the mud and fluff is one of the nicest babies we have bred.

Black 2022 filly with a star, snip and 3 white socks. Will mature over 16hh.

By Bellario and out of a purebred Trakehner mare (Lutz).

Exceptional movement, will be a star in the dressage arena or show ring. Bold nature and very friendly temperament.

Well handled, floated several times. Can wear a rug and be washed/tied up etc.

Regretfully available to a top class home.

Get in quickly before she sheds her coat and I get professional photos taken 😉

Komet Von C
The only son of Dressage great Gribaldi that has been available at stud in New Zealand. His Sire Gribaldi was 2008 Trakehner Stallion of the Year, was graded a Keur Stallion by KWPN and sired the international phenomenon Totilas. His dam sire lines being Thoroughbred offer refinement and stamina while her dam lines go back to Arsenal, sire of the great Camelot who was the dam sire of Eventing Sire Grafenstolz. Though he has had limited services since his arrival, his progeny on the ground have been of great quality with a fantastic temperament and trainability, having 2 already exported overseas.

I would love to say a huge thank you to each of my foaling down clients this season. I’m flattered that each of you trusted your mares and their babies into my care 🥰

Due to me taking on an exciting new role, I sadly won’t be able to offer foaling down next season 😢

6 out of 8 foals were fillies 😳😂
7 out of 8 foals were born between 0000-0300
The shortest gestational age was 328 days
The longest gestational age was 348 days
7 out of 8 mares waxed up
Each mare that was rebred, took first cycle 🎉

That’s a wrap for our foaling season at the farm with a super cute ES Darco Obolensky filly arriving a couple of nights ago.

Her mum Ellie has been one of the most relaxed maidens I’ve come across 🥰 an absolute pleasure to foal her down.

He’s by LC Telepathy and out of a Darci Brahma mare. He wasn’t due until Christmas Eve so has made quite an early appearance!

Now is a great time of year to look at clipping your small hairy ponies or older horses who may have Cushing's ❤️

These types can really struggle in the warmer Autumn weather and many are already well on the way to having a thick winter coat.
