We want to wish all our wonderful clients a very merry Christmas and holiday time. We hope you are able to spoil your furry friends and have time to relax and enjoy the holiday season.
Just a wee reminder that we close today (24th Dec) and re-open on the 10th of Jan 2022.

16/12/2021

It's that time of year again where we like to remind you that we will be closing from 4pm 24th Dec until the 10th Jan.
Now is the time to make sure you
* update vaccines and books if going in to cattery's or Kennels
* if your pet is on prescription food or medication then make sure you have enough to get though the Xmas period, we may need to order some of this in so please ring in advance for medication.
thanks 🙂

Vets@ St. Clair will be operating under the new traffic light system from Friday 3rd Dec.
What this means for you:
- you must wear a mask
- you must either scan into the covid tracer app or give us your details so we can add you to a register
- we will need to scan your vaccine passport as you enter (we would appreciate it if you could have this out and ready to be scanned)
- we encourage you sanitize your hands

If you have chosen to not get vaccinated, haven't quite finished being vaccinated or have not yet got a vaccine passport we will still see your pet. This can be done in a couple of different ways:
- examination without owner - this means we will come out and get your pet from your car, examine, and ring you on your phone and talk about treatment options
- a family member or friend who is vaccinated can come in with your pet

If you have an exemption for the mask or vaccine, please let us know before the appointment. Expect us to ask you to wait outside while we examine your pet. Don't worry, this won't impact the quality of care you receive for your pet.

We anticipate this will be difficult until we all get used to having our passports scanned. However due to the physical size of the clinic and the small number of staff we need to stay as safe as possible so we can continue providing you with services. Please remember we will be able to see your pet, provide medication, and food no matter what your vaccine status is, it may just be a bit different to what you are used to.

Covid 19 Alert Level 2:

Don't panic! We just want to remind you of a few things to make life easier for you, your pet and us:

- Please wear a mask to your appointment as you will be seeing us for more than a fleeting encounter
- Scan in with the covid tracing app (if you don't have it let us know and we will record your visit for you)
- Use the provided hand sanitiser. It helps us all
- Limit the number of people you bring to the appointment (we only need one person with the poor patient)

We want to thank you for your cooperation and patience, we are very excited to be getting back to work and seeing your friendly faces (behind the masks)

Covid 19 Lockdown Level 3 and 4

Don't panic! Remember we are an essential service, so will be providing you support for urgent issues affecting your pet over lockdown. We just want to remind you of a few things to make life easier for you, your pet and us:

- the doors will be locked to humans while we are in level 4, when you arrive for an appointment or to pick stuff up you have previously arranged ring us and we will collect your pet from your car or pop your stuff out the door.
- Please do not panic buy food or medication for you pets, if you have enough to get through till next week leave the stuff on the shelf for the people who don't
- All food and medication needs to be organised before arriving at the clinic, either email us on [email protected] or ring on 03-4551010 and expect to leave a message which we will respond to when we can
- For urgent cases we will either provide telephone support or appointments
- Vaccines, annual health checks, over the counter products (eg worm and flea treatment) are not essential!

We want to thank you for your cooperation and patience

Your friendly team at [email protected]

As I'm sure you all know (or at least our local clients) we have road works outside the clinic and access is compromised. We have just found out that we will be having our footpath dug up on Monday morning, Marcus has decided that due to the noise level (scary for our patients), and access difficulties that we will open the clinic later in the day. However we will be available via email and phones from our home bases.

13/05/2020

Yay, we are very excited to be moving into level 2 tomorrow, we want to take this time to thank all our awesome clients on helping us and being so understanding.

We have a few things though that we want to mention
1- we are taking all appointments and surgeries
2- only 1 person can come in with their pet
3- we are limiting time with each owner so we would appericate it if we only saw 1 pet per owner (eg we want to avoid a 30 min consult)
4- if we have a person in reception we would appericate it if you could wait outside or in your car, let us know you have arrived by phoning 03-4551010
5- If you are unwell we are still happy to see your pet, we would like to know in advance and we may do a appt with the pet while you wait in the car. Or if another family member or a friend could bring the animal in instead.

Thank you aging for being so awesome :)

We know this week has been a tough week for many of our wonderful clients, we just want to say a huge THANK YOU for being so accepting to all the changes and trusting us with your pets.

I just want to remind you that Marcus and me are taking turns on the phone, so during normal working hours the clinic will not always be open but you can always get one of us, we are also both available on email ([email protected]), please do not hesitate to ring for your pets needs.

On a side note this has been very interesting experiment for my pooches as i'm sure your pets are enjoying having you work from home too, this is Henry my little helper today, why don't you post a picture and show us how much your pet is enjoying you being at home more.

23/03/2020

COVID-19 lockdown

Don't panic! We aren't completely shut down as it has been deemed we are an essential service so we are providing support for urgent cases and doing our best to supply food for your pets. Our door will be locked during opening hours and humans won't be allowed in. We will be collecting your pet from your car and returning.
Thank you for your cooperation and patience in this matter.
We would appreciate you ringing us before coming in so we can organise the product you want and sort out payment.

These measures are being put in place so we can all stay safe
Marcus

STOP - PLEASE READ!!!!!!!

Are you feeling unwell or in self isolation?

If so please do not come to the vet clinic, please call us on 03-4551010 or email us on [email protected] so we can determine how we can best help you and your pet.
This includes repeating prescriptions, organising food and in some cases performing diagnosis and treatment planning via telemedicine.

Hi. I hope u are enjoying this beautiful weather. How ever I have seen a few dogs over heating. So follow these rules and we can all have fun.

It is going to be a very hot day💥💥💥 ...... a great day for the beach. Please, only take the dog if you are prepared to carry him over the hot sand and your car is nice and cool. Otherwise, please leave your dog at home in the cool/shade with plenty of water. And leave the walking until the cool of the evening. Your dog will appreciate it.👍👍👍

Does your dog have arthritis, an injury or recovering from surgery or overweight?

Have you tried physical therapy for your dog? We have a wonderful service in Dunedin that we are extremely lucky to have and that is AquaPaws. What is this, it is a underwater treadmill so the dogs can be exercised in a controlled manner with the warmth of the water, this soothes the muscles as they walk and they are able to do more exercise without hurting themselves.

Check out the information attached
